When I see a fact, I analyze it. If it sounds reasonable, I believe it. Next time I say something, I'll have it backed up by a written fact.

That's off the subject. Britain has nothing to prove when it comes to being allies with America. The same with Australia, Poland, Spain and few other countries that I can't think of right now.

Actually it was, as we were talking about running to other countries to ask for help. America doesn't do it often, but it still does sometimes.

Actually, if there is anything dangerous in this world, its the idiots who think that communisim still works, that the terrorists are the ones who need protection, and that the United States is dangerous. If it weren't for the United States clearing out terrorists, almost every government in the world could be blackmailed by huge networks of terrorists, and get away with it. T, you are way right on this one.
Oh, and if any of you want to know who is really dangerous, try looking at the UN. Or maybe the European Union. Someone who I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw their buildings. I mean, c'mon. The UN thinks that we should be nice to the people who blew up the World Trade Centers. If that is dangerous, then nothing is.

Really? Because I think you need to elaborate. I can't think of any great examples off hand.

So your saying a conglomerate of countries has nothing to fight with. In that situation I'd have to say the fault is theirs. The US is only 228 years old. While we've been developing these "big bad scary weapons", what have ya'll been doing? And don't say taking care of poverty, hunger, etc... because we send billions of dollars and materials in foreign aid year after year after year.

Communism never worked, and never will work in my view. There are too many ambitions in people not to take over others, and attack innocents. I don't think terrorists need protection, in fact just the opposite. In the newspaper today, the Lockerbie bomber was living in a 250 000 house/prision, with an on suite bathroom, a studie, living room bedroom etc. In these were a computer, TV etc. How is that punishment? I think the the EU isn't very good, but wouldn't say its dangerous as such. Nothing would ever be reached in agreement about war. How was the UN thinking they should help them?

I already told you the radar station for an EWS so they could use the StarWars system, if it comes into fruition. Also America needed European countries permission to use them as a base for attacks on other countries such as Iraq. I personnal would like to welcome Bush when he comes to Britain in a few days, but won't be able to.

Communism as an idea works. Communism in practice does not. Primarily for the reason Jeremy mentioned. Ambition. In every man there is the desire to succeed, to better himself.
Not to mention if you have communism, you must have total government control After all, all things must be kept equal.

Communism Works... But it only works if it is truly based on the Original Marxist Ideas.

Communism based on fear Fails miserably. Stalin Proves this point for me.

As long as mankind strives to better himself, how can communism work practically? The man who cures cancer deserves nothing more than the man who does nothing?

Communism in theory is a wonderful idea, but it's human nature to be greedy and to try and better oneself (as T said) therefore it will never work in practice.

The only example I've seen of Communism working in practice is that of the Borg!

Correction. In the case of the borg, each individual is actually under total control, and really doesn't have a choice in what they do. They are no longer individuals.

Just take my word for this one. Eventually, the European Union will become an even greater threat to world peace than the United Nations. Think about it. Any group that tries to force world peace on people, don't really want world peace. What they want is world control. The European Union will eventually become the most dangerous organization that there is.

Well, that's the way that woman in the UK meant it to be, but it's actually a sign of distress. For anyone who knew that, she really made an ass of herself.

I don't think that communism is a good idea at any time. It just takes freedom away from ppl and it has no faith that ppl can live their own lives without the government controlling everything they do.
Without the competition that capitalism gives, career ppl wouldn't strive to get better at their jobs and put out better products, 'cuz they have no incentive. Compare China with Hong Kong. Technology is owned by capitalistic countries, 'cuz of incentives and hope that life can get even better. A communist country's growth, in most business sectors, is stagnated from lack of incentive and happiness.
By far, I'm no expert on communism... but, that's how I see it in all forms of media.
As far as Marxism... there's no way of knowing if it would've been any better than any other communism today, since it wasn't around too long. Perhaps, 'cuz of its lack of staying power shows that it wasn't any good.

I agree with MOST of the points, withdrawal of troops, etc...

but i disagree with the famine thing. If the US wants to help, help in these kind of things, not waging war on countries like Iraq or Afganistan (sp?) I agree with finding saddam and osama, but not in such violent ways. besides, the money could be used for better things, like feeding children in africa or giving aid to disaster struck areas.

I very much doubt that the European Union will be a bigger threat to than the U.N/which isnt threatening the world peace, as far as I know) or, for that matter the U.S.A. The U.S is probably the most dangerous nation in the world, considering how many weapons they have.

I believe that the EU is going to become more powerful than America and that Germany will become the leading world force in it. Also some countries in the east also might become more powerful. I also belive that Bush is a good person. Remember people say he is a warmonger, but he wasn't going to do much with foriegn policy, and was going to concentrate less on Israel, until 9/11. I don't count that the way a warmonger would do things.

Even if they do get rid of President Bush (god forbid) dont worry......I am going to run for the Presidency as a Republican when I am older, and I am not kidding. I will remeber that plan yall. The UN and some other countries can just kiss this.

That's pretty ambitious.
I look forward to seeing you run. I would run (in the future) ........ but I have no interest.

My mother keeps telling me I should become the first female president, lol. Scary, eh? I currently work for the mayor of Bangor, and his best friend happens to be the Governor of Maine, so there are alot of political discussions I am privy to. We have Senators in alot, Representatives, etc... You learn so much just by listening to them. And sometimes they actually ask me what I think. (Dan did it once, as a joke, and I answered him seriously, he was surprised, ) We differ alot, though. He's a Democrat, and I'm not,
