I really like the story! And it's good that you like it yourself, 'cause if you'd hate it, there would be no point in continuing, would there?

LAST TIME:::

Captain Janeway smiled and then scooped up her coffee cup Im guessing I have about fifteen minutes? She directed the question at Seven who took a short moment and then nodded. Good, thats just enough time for a quick shower and change of clothes. With that, she left the briefing room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THIS TIME:
Janeway stood in transporter room one, clean and crisp in a fresh uniform. She hung a type two phaser at her waist and also a tricorder.
There was the crewman at the transporter console like last time, but unlike the last time, Chakotay wasnt here. Previously he had followed her here straight from the bridge. It seemed that things were already different in this time, even if they were only small differences, they were a step in the direction of change that she was looking for, she thought.
The fifteen minutes was almost up, softly to herself she said three, two, one and at that precise moment the door hissed open and Seven, BElanna, Chakotay, and this time also Tuvok and the Doctor walked into the room.
The crewman at the transporter controls looked at her in surprise having heard her countdown. She just gave him a cheeky half smile and then turned swiftly to her first officer.
This is different She said, addressing the larger group of officers before her with a motion of her hand.
Chakotay answered yes, the Doctor has been bending my ear.
And mine also Tuvok added, a hint of irritation on their countenances.
Janeway felt an unwelcome suspicion come upon her.
She tilted her head to one side slightly, eyes downcast and turned, a hand on her hip as she walked from Chakotay and over to stand before the Doctor. She looked up at him, her chin raised and her eyes stern and thoughtful. Let me guess, she said, all the while locking eyes with the Doctors indignant ones I have a mutiny on my hands.
The Doctor stuttered slightly but remained defiant Ca Captain, whether you can feel it or not, you are injured and your health he struggled stubbornly to find the right words, then suddenly seemed to give up. He threw his hands dramatically in the air and turned from her pacing you have NANOPROBES throughout your system and are time travelling uncontrollably! It would be ridiculous if I did NOT come with you!
Doctor. she said in a warning tone. She was still the Captain, and he was in danger of crossing the line. He stopped his stubborn pacing and turned to face her, concern suddenly on his lined and expressive face.
Thisthis is a medical matter only Captain, he said passionately, his brows knitted together and I therefore have the authority to supersede your orders in the interest of what is best for you  he stood before her and suddenly mirrored her image by folded his arms firmly upon his chest  if I have to. Janeways eyes narrowed but she let him continue I am immune to the temporal narcosis unlike the rest of the crew, including you, in spite of you ignoring this fact he pointed a finger at her as if she were a child being reprimanded but then cut the motion short when he saw the warning look on her face. She shook her head slightly in exasperation.
He decided to finish his indignant sermon there.
Janeway licked her top lip slightly and then looked down and then up and over at Chakotay Well, it looks like I have no choice. she stated to him, too tired from listening to the doctors protests to lodge her own.
He nodded the Doctor might be useful, and besides, hell be able to monitor your condition if necessary.
It is a wise course of action under the circumstances Tuvok added.
Janeway took in a deep breath and then sighed slightly very well. She gave her approval so that he didnt need to order her. Technically the Doctor was the only one aboard whose medical authority could supersede her own commands, and essentially, he was threatening to do just that. By agreeing, the order hadnt become official and wouldnt need to be noted as such in the Ships Log.
Since the Captain wont go to Sickbay, then Sickbay must come to her the Doctor said, revealing something clasped in his hand This neuro-cortical monitor will record your brain activity captain and any anomalous cell activity. Hopefully, he began, pressing it so that it attached to the side of her neck nothing out of the ordinary will happen he grinned and stepped back.
Thank you Doctor, good thinking the Captain said.
Seven pushed forward and handed the her the modified transporter enhancer, which Janeway strapped on her left arm just as she had before.
BElanna, Janeway said getting on with business as usual can the Doctors mobile emitter be recalibrated to act as a temporal shield?
Easy. She said, and turned to the Doctor beside her and began to modify his emitter. In a moment she was done.
Well, now that is settled, the Doctor smiled, relieved that it hadnt been as hard to persuade her as he had anticipated and practiced for, and bent over to retrieve a medical supply case by the handle.
Chakotay shook his head slightly at the Doctors characteristic performance and then turned to Janeway well be keeping a transporter lock on the two of you for as long as were able. We dont know what the effects of you passing through the quantum field will be upon the ships systems, but well do our best. Also, youll be pleased to know that long-range sensors are not detecting any Borg ships.
Janeway gave a short nod. Then she activated her temporal shielding. Just as it had the last time, the room around her spun, only this time it seemed more severe. She felt nausea creeping up her throat, and Chakotays firm grip upon her arm and around her shoulder was the only thing that kept her from falling to the deck. As the room stopped spinning she saw that the Doctor was scanning her with a medical tricorder, and concerned faces were studying her. She found she was now sitting on the floor, only she didnt remember how she got there.
She regained her composure and her stomach Well, that was far more intense than the last time. she began to stand with Chakotays help.
I think you passed out, so I lowered you to the floor. He said, his brow lined with concern at the slight paleness of her face.
You did have a momentary loss of consciousness, which is not attributable to the shielding alone The Doctor explained studying his tricorder closely I think theres more going on here Captain, I need to run further tests.
She moved from Chakotays firm grip and regained her own feet, betraying a sturdy confidence which she did not entirely feel.
It will have to wait Doctor, she stated. Chakotay also opened his mouth to protest, but she held up a hand which stopped him mid-breath Save it , time is running out. Were going. Now. Maintain comm silence if possible Commander, there are no Borg in space, but they are nearby nonetheless. She stepped up onto the transporter platform. This time there would be no arguments. The Doctor looked about to argue himself, but then he just shook his head and sighed, picking up his medical case and stepping onto the platform himself what good is arguing? he said forlornly.
Energize. The Captain ordered sternly, and as the transporter room as and her senior officers faded in a shimmering haze of blue, the last thing she saw was the troubled look on Chakotays face.
In the blink of an eye the Captain and the Doctor appeared on the cold planet surface, this time a little closer to the edge of the quantum field.
Janeway snapped open her tricorder to double check there were no Borg nearby, the Doctor took in his surroundings standing in silence for a moment.
Rather barren and gloomy isnt it? He commented.
Yes, and cold. Janeway replied, finishing her scans. It might bare a resemblance to Earth from space, but not down here. All clear, according to the tricorder there are no Borg nearby. The next seismic activity should take place in approximately seven minutes. This way Doctor. and they began to walk up the slight hill towards the summit which overlooked the quantum fissure and its mysterious contents, though neither could be seen by the naked eye.
How are you feeling Captain? the Doctor asked as they walked in the darkness, lighting their paths with their wrist-lights.
Nothing to worry about, just slightly dizzy. she responded but Ill manage.
No doubt you are beginning to feel the effects of temporal narcosis. It will only get worse Im afraid, we must be quick and get back aboard Voyager before you deteriorate further.
I agree. Janeway replied as they quickened their already fast pace. Even in the darkness she could make out a look of surprise on his shadowed face. Time is of the essence here, in more ways than one.
They reached the summit and the Captain directed her wrist-light ahead into the dark empty chasm, just as before, the beam remained suspended in the air before them.
The Doctor had a slightly worried look on his face at the prospect of entering the field. After you. he said, feigning joviality.
She turned to approach the edge of the field, prepared to step through into another time, but mid-stride was interrupted by a high-pitched noise from the tricorder. At the same instant the Doctor grabbed her arm and pulled her back, her tricorder jostled from her grip, fell to the earth, and a dark figure appeared from the quantum field before them emerging as if out of nowhere.
LAST TIME: ~~~~~~~~~~
After you. he said, feigning joviality.
She turned to approach the edge of the field, prepared to step through into another time, but mid-stride was interrupted by a high-pitched noise from the tricorder. At the same instant the Doctor grabbed her arm and pulled her back, her tricorder jostled from her grip, fell to the earth, and a dark figure appeared from the quantum field before them emerging as if out of nowhere.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THIS TIME:
The shadowed figure began toward them, a red beam of light cutting through the darkness, the only clearly visible feature on an otherwise indistinctive mechanical-organic body. Janeway and the Doctor jumped back in alarm, but it was no use, the Drone was undeniably focused on them. The Captain quickly reached down, snatching her phaser from her waist, and raised it with a straight arm toward the Drone. As her wrist-light moved in line with her firing arm, its bright beam fell upon the Drone, washing away the darkness instantly.
Please do not fire Captainthat weapon will be ineffective. The Borg female stated frankly.
The Captain froze immediately. The Doctors mouth fell open in shock. The Drone ceased all movement and Janeway whispered horrified Seven..

Seven, what has happened to you? Janeway asked, shock in her tone.
The Collective attempted to reassimilate me, however it has only been partially effective. We must speak quickly before you are discovered. She finished hurriedly. The Doctor opened his medical case and retrieved a medical tricorder and began scanning her.
Captain, I have been on this planet for approximately sixty-three days. I have seen Voyager respond to the Borg subspace message and subsequently come to investigate the quantum fissure countless times. You yourself have been to the planets surface at least as many times as there have been days for me. You have been caught in a quantum causality loop which I am endeavouring to break.
Janeway looked from Seven to the Doctor and then back I dont remember any of that. I only recall being on this planet twice, the first time when you went missing and now, with the Doctor. How is it that you are here Seven and there is also a Seven of Nine aboard Voyager?
There isnt time to explain everything Captain, but I will try to make you understand. You dont remember the previous loops because as each ended in the same fashion and then temporal causality created another which would begin before any of the events had taken place. Essentially, to you, before you were infected with the temporal nanites, they never occurred. However, I have been existing within the quantum field, which is protected from all other time events. I have watched each time loop unfold, with its inevitable conclusion. I had to do something to try to change your future, or watch Voyager become doomed and everyone aboard along with it repeated over and over. That is why I infected you with the temporal nanites Captain, to protect you from the effects of the time loop, much as I am protected by the quantum feild. I couldnt act directly because the collective may have the ability to monitor my actions. I had hoped that you would be able to break the time loop before Voyager is engaged again, but it does not seem that you will, at least not this time. They are almost upon you again.
So it was you who injected me, assimilated me with temporal nanites so I would be able to go back and prevent this? and the first time we visited the planet together, you really did get lost, you fell into the quantum field? Janeway was astonished.
That is correct Seven stated again.
Who is going to attack Voyagerwhy is it doomed Seven? Janeway asked in a tense voice.
The Borg will drop out of subspace almost on top of Voyager without any warning. Trying to defend itself, Voyager will be caught in the planets gravitational pull and crash.
Even in the dim light Janeway could make out unshed tears in her tortured crewmembers eyes. You must stop this from happening again. There was a pleading tone in Sevens voice which was rarely heard.
A shiver ran down Janeways spine. They had never come as close to being defeated by the Borg as they were at this very moment, while she stood on this barren planets surface, talking. It was hard to keep a level tone as she fought a lump in her throat The structure inside the quantum field? she feared she knew the answer, but it had to be said.
Seven answered with a strained voice Once pitched too close to the planet, Voyager was drawn into the quantum fissure. The crew and ship, they are all Borg now Captain.
Janeway hadnt realised she was nearly crying until she felt a tear spill over and run down her cheek. She wiped it away and took a steadying breath, unlocking her eyes from the invisible wall before her, from an imagined scene of her ship discarded by human hands and transformed anew in the chasm beyond. Taking a step forward she placed a hand on Sevens shoulder. She knew that becoming a part of the collective again was one of Sevens deepest fears, and it had happened, and not just to her, but she had watched the crew assimilated time and time again. Ill stop it Seven. Well stop it together.
I cant come with you Captain. The Collective is attempting to repair their Voyager and re-establish complete contact with the collective mind which until now has been disrupted almost entirely. At this moment they are working inefficiently as drones, disconnected from systems and each other. I must stay and attempt to stop them from making use of the quantum fissure and assimilating other realities. But it is only a matter of time until the vinculum is repaired, then there will be nothing stopping them.
Again the Captians tricorder sounded an alert. The quake! Brace yourselves! She yelled. Seven stepped backwards away from her and the Doctor, toward the quantum field
Only you are able to stop this Captain. she said, before stepping back and being claimed by a wall of invisibility as she once again passed inside the field.
The Captain turned to look at the Doctor, who raised an eyebrow in response. Then the ground shook. And it shook hard.
Crouching and attempting to ride out the raging planet as it kicked and bucked beneath them, Janeway brought the Doctor in close to her side, determined not to lose another crewmember. They huddled as dust and debris filled the air around them and coated them in filth. The ground slid beneath them and rocks went smashing by. Suddenly the Doctor yelled out.
Look out! he dived forward, pushing his Captain aside as a slipping rock narrowly missed them both. He fell to the earth with a winding thud and suddenly, the Captain was alone. The Doctors Mobile Emitter dropped to the earth and the quake ended. Janeway reached for the mobile emitter, scooping it up in her palm, but before she had a chance to assess the damage which had caused the Doctors program to shut down, a familiar feeling enveloped her. A tingling feeling. A wash of white light seemed to radiate before her eyes expanding from where she crouched in the dirt, and as the wave rippled outwards, colour washed through it with dazzling brilliance until that colour faded into a familiar scene. She was now crouched in her own bathroom beside the sonic shower. It was now morning on the day they would arrive at the M-class planet. But none of that had happened yet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SO, what did you all think of that! I love that post, and the bit where Seven said that they are all Borg now, that was where I looked up and saw my sister crying! hehe. Hope you all liked that one, I think its one of the best posts. Ok, well, until later, bye.
Is anyone still reading? I got no replies after that last post
Oh well, here's the next one anyway:
LAST TIME~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Doctors Mobile Emitter dropped to the earth and the quake ended. Janeway reached for the mobile emitter, scooping it up in her palm, but before she had a chance to assess the damage which had caused the Doctors program to shut down, a familiar feeling enveloped her. A tingling feeling. A wash of white light seemed to radiate before her eyes expanding from where she crouched in the dirt, and as the wave rippled outwards, colour washed through it with dazzling brilliance until that colour faded into a familiar scene. She was now crouched in her own bathroom beside the sonic shower. It was now morning on the day they would arrive at the M-class planet. But none of that had happened yet.
THIS TIME:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chakotay sat in his chair on the bridge beside the Captains empty one, reading a report which had been handed to him moments before. All systems were functioning within normal parameters. The dilithium crystal stocks were getting toward a low level and would therefore need consideration and a likely away mission to retrieve more from a hospitable planet, hopefully there was one nearby, he thought. Neelix had put in a request for an away mission to gather some food supplies to supplement those from the hydroponics bay, and perhaps both of these needs could be settled at the same time. He would have to discuss it with the Captain.
Thoughts of the Captain made him glance beside him at her empty seat. Their Duty shift had started at least ten minutes ago, it was so unlike her to be late that
Chakotay to the Captain he touched his commbadge and waited a moment.
No reply. That was strange, very unlike her not to respond. Something felt wrong, different somehow. He stood from his seat and turned to the turbolift, passing Tuvok on his way You have the bridge Lieutenant.
Moments later Chakotay pressed at the console of the Captains private quarters. She didnt answer the door. That was even more strange. The computer had said just a moment before that she was in her quarters.
Computer, security override, Chakotay zero one beta the computer toned its approval, and the doors hissed open.
The lounge area was empty, couches, dining table,
Kathryn? he asked the room. No reply.
He turned to the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was made. The bathroom door was open, and the sonic shower was on. Kathryn? he asked again, he didnt want to invade her privacy or find that he had completely overreacted, but he still felt this was wrong. The Captain was never more than a minute late to Duty shift, and if she was busy elsewhere, she would tell the bridge crew.
He approached the door and looked inside. Then he rushed inside, because he had found the Captain. She was unconscious on the floor. Stranger still, she was in her uniform, and covered with dirt.
Crouching beside her, he gently pushed aside her hair to feel for a pulse. She was alive. His mind raced what has happened? She shouldnt be sick, were all in perfect health!
Chakotay to transporter room, emergency site to site transport, two to sickbay! Almost instantly he found himself in the sickbay and scooped the Captain up off the floor,
Doctor? he yelled into the white-washed dimly lit sickbay. No response.
Computer, activate the EMH Program.
That program is currently not available. the female voice replied flat of all emotion.
Chakotay gently placed the Captain on a nearby biobed.
What do you mean the program isnt available? he asked a little frustrated.
The program has been transferred to the mobile emitter. the female replied.
Chakotay shook his head in irritation and suppressed impending panic. He wasnt a medic, didnt know what was wrong with the Captain. Hed have to go with the next best thing.
Chakotay to Paris, get to sickbay on the double
Aye Sir, on my way was the immediate reply.
The Captain was breathing at least. It almost looked as though she were peacefully sleeping. He reached forward and clasped a dust covered hand, squeezing it tightly for reassurance, as much for himself as his comatose patient. That was when he felt something in her hand.
He turned her palm upwards and discovered the Doctors Mobile Emitter.
Thank the spirits!
Quickly he pressed at the mobile emitter holding it before him. In a slight haze of bent light the Doctor appeared Please state the nature of the med he turned and saw the Captain. Oh Captainthe temporal narcosis.
What is going on here Doctor? Whats wrong with the captain? Why is she in this condition? Chakotay motioned toward the Captain, indicating the mud all over her and her uniform.
The Captain is suffering the beginning effects of prolonged exposure to a temporal anomaly, the temporal narcosis she mentioned earlier Commander. Please move aside, the Doctor moved before Chakotay to examine the Captain more closely. She will regain consciousness, and when she does, I will be able to determine the extent of her injuries more accurately, see if there is any psychological or biological damage. The Doctor had regained his matter-of-fact bedside manner now, completely at home in his Sickbay.
Temporal phenomenon? She just got out of bed! Chakotay exclaimed.
The Doctor paused in his ministrations and considered the Commander a moment.
So you have no idea why the Captain could be like this? You know nothing of a temporal phenomenon?
I have no idea what youre talking about Doctor, but Id like to Chakotay replied.
The Doctor looked down at the Captains supine form before him and whispered in thought Then I guess this must be a new time periodsomehow my program was transported back in time with the Captain. he noticed how frustrated Chakotay was looking and realised how bizarre all of this must seem,
All will become clear Commander, I will explain in a moment.
Chakotay looked slightly more relaxed. He looked down at the unconscious form of his commanding officer, and his brow furrowed why is she covered in dirt?
At that moment Tom Paris jogged through the sickbay doors which hissed closed behind him.
What can I do for. he walked closer and saw the figure on the biobed the Captain? Is she okay? What happened?..Why is she so dirty?
The Captain will be fine. Tom, give me a hand
:~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, well, hopefully I still have readers and they like the story, if not, then I'm just typing to myself, which is ok, since I like typing, and I often talk to myself. he he.
