How many of you have heard about nanotubes and nanotechnology.
Post your thoughts about it.

I have heard of nanotechnology.
We are only in the very beginning stages of researching it and have not by any means nearly reached its potential. Nanotechnology will, hopefully, be able to do many different things, including a new type of medicine. We could program little nanoprobes (I don't know if they would actually name them that, but I'm just takin a name from Star Trek here) basically to go into a body and kill all of one type of cell/organism/virus.
There are countless things little nanomachines could do, and it is a very promising area of research, albeit a very expensive one.

I can promise that if we develop anything remotely resembeling an object from Startrek, they'd use the startrek name for it. Heh, what better name could we come up with?

suppose. The great thing about nanotechnolgy is it hundreds of times lighter than steel, and hundreds of times stronger.

What do you mean hundreds of times lighter, and hundreds of times stronger.
The strength of nanotechnology does not rely in the strength of materials used, but its size.
Nano is a metric prefix, I believe it is under micro, I'm not completely sure but I think its 10^-7.
It's size is what gives it's advantage, it can perform tasks on the molecular level...things like that.
Yeah, I don't know all that much about it...but I know the basis behind it.
