That would be good...according to information I've read, Akira-class are fighter carriers (during the Dominion War) - it would be good to see a series that featured one-man fighter dogfights in the Star Trek universe lol. Not a particularly original concept I know....but....

Speaking of which, why don't normal ships carry fighters? Surely it makes sense to have a few fighters on board a ship as defense....especially on bigger ones like Galaxy- and Sovereign-Class??

is they all had a few delta flyers they could act as the fighters they are good enough, providing they had a few weapon enhancements

I know this post was made over 2 years ago, but I had to comment.

The enterprise NX-01 SHOULD, in fact, look better than the original enterprise because if they made the ship look worse than it did with the primitive "special effects" they had waaaaaaay back when TOS was on, absolutely NO ONE would watch the show. The ship, technically, IS supposed to be less advanced. It's just that humanity has come a long way in special effects since then... therefore, it is the people who MAKE the special effects that are more advanced... NOT the ship. I rest my case *sits down*

*Stands up*
"Members of the jury..."

Having Delta Flyers stationed on other ships wouldn't be a bad idea really...the Flyer proved herself pretty well in the Delta Quadrant, you'd think Starfleet would start building them to put on other ships...kinda like an upgraded version of a Runabout or something...

When I first heard about Enterprise I thought the ship would look pre-TOS; I was imagining something along the lines of the Daedalus class. I was kinda dissapointed that they hadn't maintained continuity with that the first time I saw the ship but I liked the NX-01. I didn't actually like the Daedalus and was hoping the ship would look a bit different from it anyway.

When they first announced it, they said they were gonna make it look like a submarine weren't they? Sure the corridors are a tiny bit narrowers but other than that I don't see many similarities...maybe they dropped that idea or something...
