LOTR is the "star wars" of our generation.

Stargate worked out well. But, usually, yes.

On the other hand, making movies out of books usually doesn't go over too well either, and yet......

Well, what can I say, there are always exceptions.

I first heard of LotR when I saw commercials for FotR, then I saw the movie, and instantly got the books and read all three of them within the time period of three months. I was a huge fan, but then it kind of died down after TTT left theaters, then it was aroused when I saw the trailor for RotK. I think that it was the best trailer of the three, and I think that it will be the best movie of the three. However, I must warn Peter Jackson that if he does something really stupid with it and kills one of the characters that wasn't initially supposed to die (like he did in TTT) I will personally tear off his head. lol. just kidding, but I won't be happy about it, that's for sure.

Gondor! Gondor, between the mountains and the sea
West wind blew there; the light upon the Silver Tree
Fell like bright rain in the gardens of the Kings of old
O proud walls! White towers! O winged crown and throne of gold...

Definitely.
I love "Lord of the Rings".
I have a few gripes about the films, but they're just small things that don't jive with the books. Nothing serious.
I am dying for "Return of the King", I have been ever since I saw the special preview on TTT.
December 17 is way too far away.
