Hey guys!

Here's what i have for DW fictions,so far....

Star Trek: Dreamweaver
Array Of Light, Part I

All nine of the senior officers took in tired sighs of boredom as they played yet another game of poker. They all had agreed to take on the night shift (as if there were any other officers to take their places). To pass the time, they played cards. Starbase Nines commanding officer, Karin Janeway, dealt five cards to each player. She could tell that, of all nine officers, none of them were too pleased to be stuck on the base. She brushed back a lock of dark auburn hair and looked to her own hand of cards. Lara, Fleur, Alex, Tarek, Kara, Syria, Tristine, and Anij were all sitting rather stiffly around the dull, gray table. Each one of them was fighting their own fatigue and disappointment with Starfleet.

Place your bets, please. Karin drawled, with a sand papery voice, very much like her aunts. Alex, Syria, Kara, and Anij folded during the first round, leaving the others to bet quite high.

Well, lets see Lara said with a hint of annoyance in her sharp voice. She thought for a few moments before folding. By the last bet, Karin and Tarek were the only ones who had not folded or lost any of their chips. Karin could see right through Tareks expressionless demeanor.
Hes bluffing, she thought to herself. She could feel the corners of her mouth widen slightly, at the thought of actually beating Tarek at poker. When Tarek stopped betting, Karin called his bluff and Tarek turned over his hand. A weak burst of exhausted laughter filled the room as everyone viewed the two pair Tarek was holding. Karin showed off her flush and smiled contently.

Computer, what is the time? Laras cool voice rang out.

-0530 hours-
Well, it looks like the shifts almost up! Alex said brightly. Syria ran her fingers through her own black hair, deep in thought. Lara stood, laying her cards on the surface of the table. She was quite angry at the humiliation of being taken off of a ship and placed on a relay base in the middle of nowhere. However, plans were already underway to transfer her to DS9 the following week. Still, Lara was infuriated and would not let her feelings rest until she was off the base and on DS9. Kara put her cards down as well, stood, and stretched. No one said anything for a few moments. Karin picked up a padd, trying to look as though she were transfixed by its contents:

Officer Compliment-Starbase Nine: 9

Captain: Karin K. Janeway
Commander: Lara R. Sisko
Head of Comm.: Fleur M. Paris
Head of Operations: Alexandor L. Kim
Head of Security: Tarek K. TVok
Chief Engineer: Kara R. La Forge
Ops & Relay Officer: Syria L. Zexx
CMO: Tristine L. Valora
Chief of Stellar Research: Anij Hansen

Karin went on to read personnel files on each officer thoroughly, until 0600 hours reached Starbase Nine. When the alert went off to signal the end of the shift, Karin instructed Tarek to keep an eye on things while everyone else got some sleep. Tarek gave a curt nod of compliance and headed to Ops. The rest of the officers said farewell and headed to their quarters. As Karin stepped into a turbolift, she could hear the voices of people trailing off as they walked away. Besides herself and the other eight men and women, no one else served onboard the starbase. Since the base was used as a relay and research station, it was quite smaller than stations like DS9. Karin made her way down the corridor as soon as the lift opened. As she entered her quarters, she sleepily walked straight into Lawrence Crushers arms. While Karin was at Starfleet Academy, she met Lawrence and the two became intimate. Sadly, Karin was forced to leave him when she was assigned to the Renaissance-E. Lawrence was commissioned at Starfleet Intelligence right out of the Academy. Anyone could see why Karin was attracted to Lawrence. He was tall, muscular, had the most stunningly blue eyes, and a deep, soothing voice. The two hit it off while taking the Nova Squadron Flight Test. Both made it on the team and began dating after the first practice flight. Karin had fallen in love with his personality and talents. Lawrence was wearing a gorgeous smile, along with his command red Starfleet uniform. Karin didnt notice her clumsy manner or her fatigued appearance right away. And she couldnt muster up the courage to speak, so she stood there, in his arms. Lawrence decided that if she wasnt going to say anything, neither was he. So, he did the only thing he could think of, which was to kiss her passionately. Karin, taken aback, nearly lost her balance! She, of course, let him continue to kiss her, savoring the moment, and finally took a step backward. As soon as she did, both officers tried to straighten out, slightly embarrassed.

Well, if that wasnt the most informal greeting Ive ever given! Lawrence said, jovially. Karin laughed and pushed back another fleeting lock of hair behind her ear.

Lawrence, look at meI look horriblewhy didnt you tell me you were coming? I wouldve cleaned upDo you realize what time it is? Karin said, turning to look in a mirror that had been framed on the wall.

I DID tell you I was coming, Karinand here I am Lawrence said slowly and put his hand on Karins shoulder. Karin, who was trying so hard not to make eye contact again, didnt move away. In fact, she turned to look up at him once more. He was standing very close to her and part of her wanted to change the subject. The other part of her wanted him to hold her in his arms and just melt into another kiss.

Lawrence, could-could we talk tomorrow? Im really tired and I dont feel like doing much talking, or anything like that right now. Id be happy to catch up with you over breakfast, though! Hows 0800 sound? Karin beamed brightly and walked toward the bathroom, Lawrence following her.

Sure, sounds great! Shall I stop by and wake you? Lawrence asked eagerly.

Id like that very much, thank you Karin smiled once more, kissed Lawrence on the cheek, and said good night.

Damn! Karin said to herselfShe knew she shouldve taken that
Melt-into-another-kiss deal!

Karin wondered for a moment if Lawrence knew where the guest quarters were or how to get to them from this deck.
Hes smart, she figured, hell find them Then she began to wonder why the bases sensors didnt read his life signs. She fixed to ask Tarek the next day as she undressed and activated a sonic shower. The warm water felt wonderful and Karin was becoming much more relaxed now. She finished, stepped out, wrapped a fluffy towel around herself, and exited the bathroom with a second towel.
Gently, she flipped her hair over her head and wrapped the material around her hair. Finally, she was ready to slip into a nice red silk nightgown and fall into a restful slumber. And thats exactly what she did
As she slept, she dreamt of being with Lawrence on a ship, a magnificent starship with enhanced technology. They were all there, all nine of themNine?
With Lawrence, there should be tenHold onThere are some new people herewheres Syria and Lara?

Karin let her mind wander further into the dream and did not remember it right away the next morning
