Not even going to try that link with my fubar 56k connection. I can see this being a good movie yes, but an over hyped one too. Certainly not the best movie ever.

I've only seen Two Towers once, unlike Fellowship which I've seen at least five times now.

I hope that ROTK will be the best yet, but I'm assuming nothing for the time being.

As for the trailer, its decent, but not as good as TTT's trailer was.

To those who didn't like the books: Try listening to them on Audio CD during a long drive. That's how I originally heard the story.

Its got that whole "Evil is rising and must be opposed" thing going. Dwarves, elves, eagles, that sort of stuff.

Its really well-done, IMO. A good adaptation of an epic story. Just be prepared----the movies are long. The theatrical edition of "Fellowship" is over three hours, and the Extended Edition is around four hours long.

Not that I mind, though---the story never really drags.

TTT did have the BEST trailer of the three movies. It had clips that made you think, "man... he is a bad ass." The RotK trailer had a few cheesy emotional lines. The best part of the RotK trailer was when Arwen says, "it is time ... give him the sword of the king." You then see the original (?) shards being put back together on the forge. Awesome ... I cannot wait!

I have seen more clips of RotK from the bonus section of the TTT dvd, and I think this will be an awesome movie. I did not like TTT nearly as much as Fellowship and TTT I thought had the best trailer.

For the record, the Scouring of the Shire will not be in the movie very much, if at all.

The Scouring of the Shire is a great ending, it shows that time didn't stop in the Shire while Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin were away!

I agree! It should be in! You expect the book to end after the ring gets destroyed and was a surprise because most books deal would have just dealt with the "ring" plot and left it at that...it's a shame if they really are cutting that out although adding it in probably would make the film a bit too long...perhaps by some remote chance it'll be added onto the extended DVDs? Although in all honesty I doubt that they'll film it if its not going to be on the theatrical release...but then again, what do I know?

Remember not to talk about spoilers guys. Do not talk about that is going to happen or what is not going to happen in the movie based on the books. Not everyone has read the lotr books, and they may not be interested in reading the books before watching the movie. Books and film are different media for story telling, and some would rather watch lotr before reading it.

When they try to make movies into series on T.V. they usually fail .

Stargate worked out well. But, usually, yes.

On the other hand, making movies out of books usually doesn't go over too well either, and yet......
