Tue Jun 24, 2003 10:48 am Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien: Ressurection. |
|
All great movies apart from Alien Ressurection.
Alien was the most horrifying out of the lot. Was really scary, good atmosphere and the DVD makes it much better.
Aliens had the most action in it, great music too, that is definetly a good sequel.
Alien 3 was quite good and i thought the end was a good conclusion the series.
Hehe notice how all the prisoners and the dirtbags are English...thats blaintant Prejudice against us English people, argh lol.
Alien Ressurection despite some good action totally defies the conclusion of Alien. In my opinion it ruined the whole saga. It was such a nice ending in Alien 3 and Alien Ressurection ruined it all.
The only way to redeeme themselves is if James Cameron or Ridley Scott do another sequel and totally finish it with style!

Well, i kinda watched them in the wrong order. I watched Aliens first on TV and then later in the year, watched Alien. I knew what to expect, etc and Aliens just seemed a little better as a result. The tension in Alien was the greatest though.
I thought both Alien3 and Resurrection were a bit of a let down; more so 4 than 3... Alien3 made an excellent end to what could have been an excellent trilogy. As it is, Resurrection dulled down the tone of the hole of the series of films...

Aliens is definitly my favourite... by far. Ripley and Newt awww! Possibly they tried to repeat that in Alien Res but it didn't really work. Alien 3 was ok I thought, not as good as the others... It's my Dad's favourite! (He's a bit weird though )

I saw most of Alien on TV the other day. Need to see the others.
I've heard from good sources that Joss Whedon's original script for Alien Resurrection was quite good, but that it was butchered by the director.

Alien's good but you don't see much of the Alien...Not surprising really 'cos it just looks like a man in a suit nowadays compared to how they look in Alien Resurrection lol.
Mind you, that's because it was only a man in a suit lol...

Kylie Minogue (I think it was her) was like in next door studio to part of the Alien Taking and the guy in the alien suit pretrified her when he passed once, lol, that would have been funny,

i have all the alien films, my fave is aliens.
i saw an alien suit for sale once, it was so cool! i would love to have bought it but it was 3000, a little out of my price range at the time, and i haven't seen one since.
i think an alien 5 film would be cool but it would no way be as good as the first two.

OK I saw the other day on eBay, Aliens Micro Machines (The tiny little toy car things) but I thought that the films themselves had age restrictions...would it have been wise for them to make kids toys based on an adult film? Or are the micro machines things collectors editions...some of them looked quite good...they had the Sulaco and Dropship, the Alien Ship (From Alien) and APC, the Refinery ship (I forget its name) and the Escape Pod....they looked pretty cool little miniatures. Lol I still have some of my Trek Micro Machines in my cupboard lol Saddo me!
I never knew they were gonna continue the Alien series? When is 5 scheduled to come out?

I heard the Alien Vs Predator movie was cancelled so they would have more resources for Alien V. I think it will be good, Sigorney Reaver (Ripley) has agreed to do it and Ridley Scott (Director: Alien) and James Cameron (Director: Aliens) are doing it. So it looks good.

Didn't they do a game based on the "Aliens Vs. Predator" franchise? And then weren't there all those "superhero" (Different superheroes) Vs. Aliens graphics novels as well? I was never a fan of superheroes so I never read them...

Aliens is my favorite, I like the andriod. Sigourney Weaver rules as Ripley, but I didn't like ressurection as much because it wasn't Ripley. It was some weird clone that was way to cocky.
