The Soverign class vessel in my opinion is better for what Starfleet makes the flagship out to be. I mean, the flagship should be the best at everything, but it also shouldn't be a friggin pleasure cruise! Carpeting everywhere, nursery's, arboretums.....please.

Each has its own specialties. I mean, the Galaxy class is suited for the long term missions, like, being sent to a section of the galaxy nobody ever goes to, just for like, coffee.

^ Lol! I liked the Galaxy, because it was brighter and more cheerful (sorta). But the Sovereign was more sleek outside, just I thought it was poorly lit (as a film, but possibly not if you were actually there). On a big screen it looks good, but on the TV it just looks baaad. So I vote...um...er...Galaxy.

Sovereign for me. I love the Galaxy Class but it is only my second fave. The Sovereign Class is the best class ever made

Looks, yeah, Soverign beats the pants off of the Galaxy. But I'm talking specs. Depending upon the mission requirements, Soverign could usually win. Unless its like, Transport the Diplomat from Earth to some place far far away. Then you go with a Galaxy class. But if the mission is, Destroy this, then of course, you go, Soverign.

The E-E can dish out an extra 60 % in phaser fire power, it has wider arcs and faster recharge rates and it is so much more manoeuvrable than the E-D. I dont even need to mention that shield strength has almost doubled and the shield dynamics have been improved to protect against Borg cutting and assimilation beams etc.

With the addition of 200 quantum torp (double strength of photon) carrying capacity and faster rate firing, I think its obvious just how much better the E-E is than the E-D.

But heydont get me wrongthe E-D is still a formidable multi-purpose starship and can easily take on 2 Galors or 2 klingon Birds of Prey.

I voted for Sovereign; it just looks better.

What I want to know is, where do they get their hair cut? I remember on an episode of TNG there was a Bolian barber's shop on board which cut people's hair. But we never saw anything like that on Voyager or DS9. And with the NX-01 being such a small ship, I can't see there being a hair salon on board unless there is just a crewmember who knows how to cut people's hair. But then thats 80 people's hair to cut...there wouldn't be much time to do much else in the time between lol.
Just a thought...

Holodecks

I like the Sovereign... it looks better, is more powerful and really shows the flagship to be more than just a comfy plaything

I like the Sovereign. The Galaxy Class seems a little bulky to me.

PostMon Sep 15, 2003 8:56 pm    Sovereign or Galaxy?

I've read some of the books and it said that a Sovereign class vessel was the most powerful Federation ship there was. So yes the Enterprise-E is better than the Enterprise-D
