Do any of you own Star Trek: Voyager Companion? If so what do you think of it? It seems to be getting poor reviews on Amazon.com.
Take a look...

I own it. They have a few interesting things, but not enough to make it worth the price. It pretty much just has epidsode info. I thought it would go in depth about the ship, and all that, but not really

I own it too, I like it a lot but I do agree that there could have been a lot more. Color pictures maybe? more behind the scene information?

16.99! That's how much I paid! Compared to the DS9 Companion this book is a waste of time...the DS9 one had notes on the production, etc, etc as well as going through how the ships were developed, etc, etc. All the Voyager companion is (to me) is a big episode guide. The information within is of the same level available on the www.startrek.com website and I would definately say that it is not worth 16.99!

I payed 12.99 for it and that was too much... I know of websites with more information than the Voyager companion!

Where did you get it for for 12.99...I got mine from Ottakers in Barnstaple, Devon and had to pay the price on the back of the book.
Also, some of the photos from the episodes in the book look more like cast members posing on stage. For example, there is one on "Drive" where it shows Torres and Paris holding champagne and it looks like they're posing for a photo rather than acting...yet it doesn't mention that it is not an "episodic" photo....I don't know if episodic is the right word but you know what I mean...at least I hope you do anyway

I bought it from Amazon and thought it was a good deal since I got it at a good discount. It's okay, but the DS9 Companion is the best one I've seen of the three (TNG, DS9, and Voyager).

I agree with you Cmdr. Chakotay. I liked how, in the DS9 book, there were drawings for example of how they planned the Runabout to look like...wait a minute that might be the "Behind the Scenes on DS9" book. Lol, the DS9 Companion was the best out of the DS9 and Voyager ones though. I can't vouch for the TNG one 'cos I've never looked at it...

Hmm.....
I have been considoring purchasing this book.. But it is about AU$50.. This is very expensive.. Is it worth it?
I also saw the Holograms Handbook.. It looks like it might be allright. Could someone explain what its about and if its worth purchasing?
Also mabye someone could suggest some other good Voyager books.
Thanks.

Personally I would say that if you can get the book at a discounted price, all the better. But if you're a HUGE fan of Voyager then it's probably worthwhile getting...if you're just a casual fan then perhaps its not the right one for you...I suppose it all depends on your preference.
As for Hologram's handbook, I don't know 'cos I don't have it but from what I hear it is OK but still a little pricey as it's a little thin...

Actually, I own the Voyager Companion too.
They shouldn't have called it Companion - NOPE, it's much more a Listing of all episodes with Images (black & white), including the Crew Manifest, Production Credits, Emmys, Directing / Writing / Guest-Actor Staff ... that's almost all of the Star Trek: Voyager Companion!

All of the information in the book can easily be found on the internet anyway...only get it if you'd rather have that information on paper...you can get the same if not better episode synopses on www.startrek.com
