I like ENT but I don't know what happened in TOS (before my time) so thats probably why I like it, but it seems to modernized with all the computerized effects and stuff. That spoils it a bit for me

Its worse than crap, it should be cancelled. From the first frame of film they screwed up continuity and tossed it in the bin. That is unnacceptable when making a prequel. The least it should do is be consistant to what it's a prequel to: TOS. So far, this show is Voyager with a different looking ship, new cast, and the same old crappy stories that are mostly composed of season 7 voyager rejected scripts.

You basicly think that the Star Trek timeline is being messed with and that it is a new Voyager in a different disguise. Well, I can't denie that they do mess with the timeline at some points but blame the Temporal Cold War!

The main problem I have with the time line screw ups, is that its not really necessary to inlcude time travel. Being a hundred years before Kirk and crew was a decision to release B&B from some of the restrictions that came with the 24th century, like Holodecks, the prime directive and even the federation itself.

If you look at the numerous of alien races that have practically no backstory, it is obvious that this is the advantage that should have been taken. Personally I believe that the Andorians should be the main enemy of a prequel, with an aggressive hostile relationship between humans and them, the vulcans trying their best to get us to stop fighting with them. The theme of birth of the federation should be the priority, not the TCW. The thing with the TCW is that it has reset button written all over it. Frankly in all reset button type stories, nothing that happens really affects the characters lives, so they won't grow and develop. If they don't grow and develop from their experience then there is no point.

I'm having trouble to see Enterprise as a new Voyager, though *some* of the episodes, then I mean very few, are much like ones in Voyager. Yes, they should have been given atomic weapons instead of photon torpedoes when they were going in to the expanse. It's certain that I like Enterprise more than Stewey and I can't change that through going in here and tell him that it is a good show. Everybody has their opinion and mine is that Enterprise is a good show. Sorry if I sound very hostile in my earlier posts.

Don't worry at least we aint fighting now

I think there are some similarities between Voyager and Enterprise definately. For example, Voyager encountering a different alien every week is very similar to Enterprise in which, here also, it seems to be a different alien every week.

Sure there are the continuing themes of Andorian/Vulcan conflicts and The Temporal Cold War but I don't think they've been used as well as they could've been...

I could be mistaken here, but isn't a cold war one of tension rather than conflict (I am probably wrong here) but, considering there is a supposed war going on around them, there's not alot of tension been created...

I was hoping, that with travelling at a slower speed, there might be more "feedback" from other incidents that happened in other episodes, even if they're just references...eg. the continuation between "Minefield" and "Dead Stop". Now, however, it seems to be a different alien every week, and half of these we never see again...for example, the nausicaans - we havn't seen them again...for pirates you'd think they'd be pretty wide-ranging...

dont care what you say, enterprise and voyager are the best because they dont run back to starfleet after they get helf destroyed, they keep on their missions but that is stupid but picard and kirk could easily return to earth if anything goes wrong and DS9 appears to be invincible

If you don't care what we say, why start the topic in the first place

As for Enterprise, the Nx-01 did try to run back to Earth to have her phase cannons installed....in the end the didn't but they were willing to go there...in fact, I'd say that Enterprise is the one that will probably end up back at Earth more than any other ship...she was going to be recalled after the destruction of the Paragon colony and was later recalled after the Xindi attacked Earth...

DS9 was often a warzone and received an upgraded weapons package ("The Way of the Warrior") so yeah, I guess it could look that way...yet, in "A Call to Arms" the station was captured and for a number of episodes...this has never happened (to my knowledge) in another series...besides if it wasn't invulnerable and was destroyed, that would've ended the series early...and if they carried on then the name would be obselete...

PS. You could say that Voyager was running back to Starfleet after getting half destroyed by the Caretaker

By reading other topics and posts on this forum you get the impression that every single person here hates Enterprise. This poll shows that it's not like that at all, since 78% of the voters thinks that Enterprise is a good show (so far). It was really a good idea by Mark Mag Gloade to start a poll so that we, at least I, get a picture of how popular Enterprise is on STV.com.

By no means do I hate Enterprise; the episodes that are good ARE good and by that I mean very good. It's just a shame that these are far between and instead we get episodes like "A Night in Sickbay"...

Personally, I think the crew has so much potential and that the series could become much bettter. However, I think the actors must see these scripts, realise that the majority are not so good and don't bother acting up to their fullest potential...I think Connor Trinneer seems to be the only one who tries to make the most out of the script...

That's in my opinion anyway...

Sorry, I didn't know if you were being sarcastic or not.

I didn't think it was worth taking up a whole episode. Esspecially when BandB had previously said that there would not be an episode based around Porthos. Nothing important happened to any of the characters - all of the characters were still in the same positions they were in at the start of the episode... All it seemed to be was Archer chasin bats round sickbay, etc. By the end of the episode what did we know about anything that we didn't already know.
We got to see some of Phloc's animals but it was not explained what they were or do or anything like that...

Enterprise never should have been made. in the episodes, they copy
everything from the movies and series. archer was sent to rura
p'ente...star trek 6. archer encounters the BORG!!! that happened on tng
and voyager. the first ones to encounter the borg were the crew of the
enterprise d. if archer had encountered the borg, then it would have been
in the alien database when picard first met them. on tng, the borg
appeared, and if you're saying that they copied tng by putting the borg on
voyager, you're wrong. voyager is in the delta quadrant, the home
quadrant of the borg. of course they're gonna meet them. so, that's why
i don't like enterprise.

Actually I doubt that humans were the FIRST ones to encounter the Borg, since they must encounter a species to assimilate.

According to the timeline, the first HUMANS to encounter the Borg were the crew of the Enterprise E, when they followed the Borg vessel back in time in Star Trek First Contact.

What should Archer had put in the Database? Something like this perhaps?

"The Borg are half humanoid, half machine and they assimilate species by infecting them with nano probes. We blew up some of the, by the way..."

The borg episode is in my opinion nicely written, when the Enterprise E destroyed the borg sphere, there was bound to be debris of the sphere falling on earth, which in the enterprise borg episode was discovered + the borg ship was destroyed so the collective didnt hear about the human race, at least not till the sub-space message arrives in the DQ wich would take (according to T'Pol) over 200 years, which coincidently is the time that the enterprise d was transported to the DQ by Q and encounters the borg, further in the Enterprise ep the borg never say who they are, the only say 'You will be assimilated', but they never mention their name, since this is the beginning of space exploration for the human race it also is possible that records from these times are a bit sketchy or maybe lost or that for the sake of the temporal prime directive they are classified.. so all things considered the borg ep was very well written

Yup, that's my point too. It was one of those times where an Enterprise episode fits PERFECT into the timeline.

I think Enterprise is an OK show. Some of the eps are boring and sometimes the cast isnt all that convincing, but that dosnt make it a bad show.

Man, go bitch about Star Wars eps I & II. Those clash more within their own timeline than Enterprise does with the entire series.
