Lasers are nothing compared to phasers...in one of the TNG episodes Worf comments that a ship has several laser cannons and says the ships is not a threat...

Aren't phasers just faster or high frequency lasers neway??? I don't know; I'm not an expert on the subject...

High yeld granades!!??

Yeah rite, talk about bullet holes in the warp core casing. Anyway, They use phaser mainly to stun, However cant they just vent a gas which gives a drug like effect to the location in where the suspect is! Who Needs Phasers!!

What about ship phasers! GIVE ME A PHOTONIC CANNON on my ship anyday!!!!

Phasers, bah, who needs them! Give me a ship full of Transphasic Torpedos any day and I'll be a happy guy!

As for hand weapons I'd say they'll use the less powerful lasers. *nods*

Well maybe the sheilds would be different as well. I mean if Phasers never came about, but some other kind of weapon did, then a different sheild would of been made. One that would protect them from that weapon.

Its like not having transporters. Its insane. G.R. (may he rest in peace) wanted it to be futuristic. and if he used bullistic weapons then it wouldnt be futuristic.
