Mostly people hate Enterprise because it messes up their precious timeline. To hell with the timeline! Watch the show and stop whining. It's a great show if you stop thinking about the timeline and that "they shouldn't have done that until..." and so on. I don't give a *beep* if the Romulans really invented cloaking some years later than they did in Enterprise.

Its worse than crap, it should be cancelled. From the first frame of film they screwed up continuity and tossed it in the bin. That is unnacceptable when making a prequel. The least it should do is be consistant to what it's a prequel to: TOS. So far, this show is Voyager with a different looking ship, new cast, and the same old crappy stories that are mostly composed of season 7 voyager rejected scripts.

That I can only agree with. I find Enterprise not worth my time. The crew sucks, the storyline sucks, the ship sucks (how can it look more modern then the constitution class?)
Their stories stuff up the ST timeline, etc. etc.

You are here simply to tell everyone that Enterprise sucks? You think that the show should be cancelled because it is so crappy. Then I have a proposition for you: Don't turn the TV on when Enterprise starts and let the rest of us enjoy the show. Thank you. I don't think that this forum is here so that people can come here and sream out their anger about the show, but instead I think it is here so that you can discuss Enterprise. Not discuss the end of Enterprise.

My reply is not pointed at you at all Vortex. My message is sent in one minute after yours and I don't write that fast. I'm telling people in common, because in this forum there is alot of complaining about Enterprise.

This forum is a place for discussion. People that don't like enterprise also have a story to tell. I agree it should be kept to specific topics.
However you can't exactly discuss anything if everyone agrees.

That is one of the reasons. There are many more. I'm just tired of explaining all the reasons why enterprise sucks.
Enterprise is not star trek IMO.

I think Enterprise is okay but I don't love it at the moment. I don't really know much about the Timeline of TOS because I've never watched it but I gather its not as fluent as it should be. I don't think ENT should be cancelled because it's only had the 2 seasons shown (in the UK) and it needs time to settle down. ENT is improving and it could be quite successful

Breaking the timeline is only one of several reasons why I'm not at all thrilled with ENT.
More importantly, there's very little original about it. Let's take a look....
"Terra Nova"----storyline lifted directly from VOY's "Friendship One".
"Oasis"----storyline lifted directly from DS9's "Shadowplay".
"Dawn"----storyline is a redux of TNG's "Enemy Mine".
I got those three without even pausing for thought. There are more examples. Many more. And the worst part is.....there's nothing different. No new twist, to make this telling of the story be something only ENT could do. Stargate SG-1 borrows old Trek concepts all the time, but they always spin them in a new way, take a different perspective on an old story. That's fun to watch. ENT just retells the same old story. That's not.
In fact, the only storyline which I'm remotely intersted in at the moment is Vulcan/Andorian relations, and that mostly because of Jeffrey Combs' excellent portrayal of Shran.
Of course, Combs got into Trek through DS9 (as both Weyoun and Brunt), so in a sense that's not original either.
The "Temporal Cold War" started out promising, but after two years its gone absolutely no where, and I doubt whether its going to do so.
Then, of course, there's the missed opportunities. Why give them photons? Why phase cannons? From a dramatic standpoint, they're *exactly* the same as 24th century tech. They want to make space combat fun to watch, they have to give us more than explosions-----they have to give use battles that actually involve tactics, make us appriciate the commanders' skills, and are dramatically different than what's come before.
A perfect example: in "The Expanse", ENT should have been refitted with nuclear torpedoes rather than "photonic" () torps. That would have made combat interesting------can't detonate too close, or you're toast, but very effective at long range.
Then, of course, there's Archer. I just can't buy the guy as a Starship Captain-----much less Earth's first ambassador to the stars! Its not believable.

^Same here......but I don't have to enjoy it. I keep hoping it'll get better.
For my quality SF TV, I watch Stargate SG-1, or reruns of Babylon 5. Watching ENT is....I dunno, its usually OK, but its rarely good.
Oh! That reminds me, Jolene Blalock (who plays T'Pol) is going to guest-star on Stargate next Friday.

The things that are bad with Enterprise in your opinions are really that it's not that new and doesn't fit into the timeline. Basicly if Enterprise would have been the first Star Trek ever you would probably think that it's good? When I watched "Terra Nova" not one single thought crossed my mind that it was just like "Friendship One". Now afterwards I understand that it was quite much like "Friendship One" but when I watched I didn't think about that. Neither do I think about the timeline when I watch Enterprise.

To some degree, I enjoy the show although I agree with many of the points you lot are making and in all honesty, if Enterprise weren't Star Trek I think it would have been cancelled long ago...
If Enterprise had have been the first Trek, I don't think there would have been any follow-on series.
Although I read the other day that whilst Enterprise is not very popular with Trek fans, quite a few non-sci fi fans are watching...
Also, there is too much action in Enterprise...too many space battles, firefights, etc...if you look through all the series of Trek I've noticed that with each season, the franchise has become more action-orientated...
In TOS for example, it was rare that the ship would get involved in a fight (I've not seen much TOS but the only episode I can think of with a ship to ship fight is "Balance of Power" with the Romulan Bird-of-Prey)...in TNG they'd get into situations where there could be a firefight but Picard would always talk his way out of it...in DS9 there was the Dominion War (lots of fighting there) and in Voyager, Janeway was always willing to destroy if she couldn't get her way through diplomacy...now in Enterprise, it seems that there are firefights in space and on the ground in every episode...firefights used to be a novelty but now, on Enterprise, they are expected in almost every episode...
...and to try and "improve" the series, the producers seem to be just making the series more and more action packed, and personally, I don't think that's the way to do it...

You're probably right about that non-trekkies like Enterprise more than real trekkies does. I guess that I'm in between the real trekkie and the non-trekkie.

I'm not going to argue the validity of my 'trekkieness' but I like the show.

Enterprise isn't really bad its just riddled with flaws that aren't getting fixed, hopefully in time there will be more quality episodes on the lines of judgment, of course they are going more action packed for season 3 but you never know they might just manage to balance action with story ( well.. they MIGHT..)

I'm posting my opinion about the show, just like you do. I'm not going to stand in front of enyone's TV set and force them not to watch. By all means watch the show. I hope everyone at least sees for themselves how bad the show is. Dude chill out, try to debate the issue with me, instead of whining about me being here, you may get a more positive response for me.
You can start by posting exactly why you think I am wrong within the context of the series itself?

You basicly think that the Star Trek timeline is being messed with and that it is a new Voyager in a different disguise. Well, I can't denie that they do mess with the timeline at some points but blame the Temporal Cold War!
I'm having trouble to see Enterprise as a new Voyager, though *some* of the episodes, then I mean very few, are much like ones in Voyager. Yes, they should have been given atomic weapons instead of photon torpedoes when they were going in to the expanse. It's certain that I like Enterprise more than Stewey and I can't change that through going in here and tell him that it is a good show. Everybody has their opinion and mine is that Enterprise is a good show. Sorry if I sound very hostile in my earlier posts.
