Ground Zero

I recently went on a trip to NYC, part of this trip included visiting Ground Zero. I don't know exactly how to put the feelings that rushed through me and everyone else in my group at the site that had once been the World Trade Center Complex, but All I know is that one minute we were a nosy group of teenagers and the next you could hear a pin drop in the middle of Manhattan. there are numerous plaques telling about the World Trade Canter, September 11, 2001, and The Heros. Seeing this and being in that holy Sacred place really made an Impact on me, It kinda brought it closer to home, especially when i saw the cross that fell from the towers. Also there is a church on Church St. (right near ground Zero) it is now a meseum of sorts displaying artifacts and numerous other items, it really is quite beautiful. Iam just wonering if any of you have visited Ground Zero and how it made an impact on you.

I haven't been to Ground Zero, but I always wanted to go. I just know that I will never forget 9/11. I still pray for the people lost and their families. I think it's great that you had a chance to see it. I would have been speechless too.

Not only do I have photos but I have a small rock that I found on church St. Right at the curb where you turn to go to the church, I will always trasure it

I think they should build some memorial there. I have seen many concept drawings before, all which are very amazing and ambitious ideas.

it killed me when i heard about the attacks then seeing the damage up close it sucked b/c i worked the relife effort up there

I live in Green Bay, WI so I have never seence ground zero the only time i saw it was when they showed on tv. I wish i could go visit it i would like to see it, but then agian it would make me cry cause i would think about all the lives that got taken and how all the firer fighters lives got taken to.

May they live on in our hearts.

Well, I am not sure if I would want to visit their cause of the 9/11.
But I might over the summer.

i can remeber exactly where i was when i first found out about it, i was at school on the bus home and it was on the radio but we all thought it was a joke becasue the presenter is a comedian but when we found out it was real we couldn't beleive it, I live in England and I am going to try and go next year. it obviously not as hard hitting over here but we all felt it was an atttack on the world, not just the US. I have seen the documentry they made on it, i have it on video and there is a book called 'last man down, the firemans story' by Richard 'pitch' Picciotto. he was a fire fighter and he was trapped inside when it collapse, it's a really good book.
