Silly question. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should have to choose one or the other.
Back in the day when SW and ST were the only things going, maybe. But now there's Stargate, Babylon 5, Farscape, Firefly, Andromeda, etc, etc.
Trying to choose between SW and ST is pointless-----particularly since they have very little in common.

I think a lot of people don't like the trek because you can't be a dumbass and watch it...you have to have some knowledge about what they're talking about. Plus sometimes you have to think about it and put two and two together.
But Star Wars is my favorite...and only by a little bit.

Well sure, that's a valid opinion.
I'm just saying it would be the hight of foolishness to hate Star Trek because you love Star Wars, or vice versa.

I like both. I was a Wars fan first, Trek second. I prefer Star Trek now because it's more scientific. (And those SW prequels have started to get to me) But I still say both.

I still like them both, but I prefer Star Trek now. Trek's more scientific, like someone mentioned above, while Star Wars is... basically what the title suggests. It's all about fighting and wars. And let's face it, the prequels suck.

I like em both, but if a Voyager marathon and Star Wars Episode Two were on at the same time, and they lasted the same amount of time, I'd definitely watch Voyager.

Well said!
Although if it was ep1 on...I might consider it...for a moment, then watch trek. I've seen SW so many times that I have all of the lines memorized. I wish it was the same with ST...but I only have some on tape.

Star Wars is ok, but I like Star Trek way better. I think I'd like Star Wars better if it was a show, but most of the movies get old to me fast.

It's a bit late but I only like Star Trek and absolutely hate any other sci-fi series because the idea of there being wars in space scares me to death. I don't even know why I like Star Trek. Its a drug and I took it

...and battles in many episodes of Voyager and Enterprise
I like different aspects of both series. I like neither Enterprise nor the Star Wars prequels but I like the special effects and storylines in Voyager and DS9. Saying that, I like the Expanded Universe of Star Wars more than any Trek book or game. I don't think as a fan of both, you can say that you like one more than the other; they're different shows, and are more often than not, in different genres and for that reason I don't think you can pick.
Obviously if you're a fan of one or the other it's an easy decision to make...for me, I'd say as a series, Babylon 5 was the best. As "easy-watching", I'd say Voyager but for books and games, etc. I'd say Star Wars without a doubt...I like different things about the different shows...

Oh, absolutely. If the movies were all Star Wars was, it'd get really old, really fast.
Its the books that really make it interesting, IMO.

I agree with you on that as well. Films can, very quickly, become old as special effects, for example, move on looking the film seeming rather dated. With books however, the stories are always in your head. As time moves on, so will the images in you head and will always be "state of the art"...

Thats why I can't watch DS9 either, it scares me. Voyager I can handle and love it and I can handle ENT and TNG but other than that, sci fi altogether scares me
