Apparently I'm not going to get to do a damn thing. My parents took my car to go get J, and have now decided that they won't be back in time for me to go to the fireworks. Also didn't bother to leave me the keys to the truck.

To say I'm pissed would be an understatement.

Any American here know what "E Pluribus Unum" means? You really should, you see it just about every day.

Ok, this ones a bit harder.

What do the Olive Branches mean, what do the arrows mean, and what do the stars stand for?
(on the seal, ^)

Don't the stars stand for the states?
And I would guess the olive branches are for peace.

^It's obvious that the stars stand for their states. I knew that, and I don't even live in your country

Happy independence day, americans

Well I thought that, but I said it in a question just to cover my but.
I really don't like to make a fool of myself.

You are correct on the olive branches and stars, though there are only 48 stars. Now what do the arrows mean?

Have war to make peace?

Kidding.

Quote:
Why is the Great Seal Important Today?

The eagle keeps us looking toward peace and unity – the message it carries.

The olive branch and bundle of arrows clarify the relation between the "power of peace and war."

The glory breaking through the cloud (and surrounding the eye) provides spiritual perspective.

((yes, I'm bored, so you all get a free history lesson))
