Tue Jun 24, 2003 12:59 am Let the Klingon/Federation war begin already!!!! |
|
Original conversation excerpt taken from: Lets Move On! Let the Enterprise Go Already!!!
The fact of the matter is Roman is right. Enterprise in its current form just repeats itself but youre wrong on one point Roman BRAGGA'S GOT TO GO!!
THAT GUY HAS NO GUTS!!! Case in point didn't the Federation / Klingon war start due to a first contact communications blunder? How can that happen now that theyve already made first contact? Gutless wrighting provides for a gutless show. And this show has no bloody guts!!!
What we need is for all hell to break lose on that show bring on the war!!! Whack out those members of the cast who want to leave let's kill off Archer in the most messed up way possible and lets have the Klingons do it so that the war can begin. Lets have the federation take some heavy losses!!! Give birth to section 31!!! Also: Have the Andorians attack the planet Volcan!!Their a little too smug for their own good lets make the war complicated hard fought and even harder won!!! Hell we can take it.

Of course, none of that would happen in Enterprise. The show's written too safely.
Besides, I don't care so much about fighting Klingons. That arc is actually going better than I expected.
Its the darned Romulans who should be emerging as a new threat right about now.

The Romulan / Klingon war breaks out after the Klingon / Federation war.
Besides the discussion isn't about weather or not you care about fighting the Klingons it's about gutless writing and Federation history. Now if you'd have expressed interest in the temporal cold war breaking out before the Federation / Klingon war I could understand that because the Temporal Cold War is new information.
Now don't get me wrong I'm uncertain about this but the Romulans shouldn't even be in the picture yet. We don't even find out about the Romulan / Vulcan relationship until Spock explains it to Kirk in the original series.

i think it should start but not know because right now the Romulan war is just starting to kick in i think so the klingon part should be in like you know the last season or something mixed in with the Romulan war that will still be there

Oh well what can I say? No one cares about continuity this is probably the reason why Bragga gets away with so much.
Last season? The Federation / Klingon war lasts for over 50 years!!

War with the Klingons? Yeah Sure I guess so after all it was always Mentioned in TOS. I'd personally rather see the Founding of the UFP United Federation of Planets first

Excellent!!! Pah-Wraith I stand corrected. You are right in the fact that the Federation was created before the Klingon / Federation war.
(I ALMOST WROTE SCRULL / KREE WAR. HAH!)
Nonetheless change is needed perhaps a war can breakout which leads to the creation of the Federation.
The Vulcan / Andorian war perhaps?
WAR!!WAR!!WAR!! Mr. Pike advocates WAR!!!KILL!!CRUSH!!!MAIM!!!DESTROY!!!

The Federation was founded as a result of the Earth/Romulan war, which I believe is accepted to have taken place in the late 2150s. However, Spock said it was fought with "Primitive atomic weapons".
Unless Enterprise is equipped with some nuclear torpedoes soon, I don't see that happening. They should have retrofitted nukes rather than "Photonic" torps in "The Expanse".

WOW this would be fantastic if it wasn't for the fact that I'm starting to look, (how shall I say?) not so bright. Atomics? Geeeezzz I have to do some research.

Was it in First Contact that first contact with the Klingons was described as being "disasterous"...from their first contact in Broken Bow, I wouldn't say it was disasterous...a farmer shot a Klingon but then they took him home again and all was well (for a while at least)...I wouldn't call that disasterous...perhaps a bit inconsiderate but not disasterous

I agree, let the war(s) begin, the original trek, the klingons were considered to be savages. so far they have been passive if you ask me.
they appear to be weak, not cunning, not great warriors, not to sound groos, but dont klingons sometimes say something along the lines like, i will eat his still beating heart!! we need to see the klingons more warlike and aggressive, we should be hearing stories of how they are expanding the empire/conquering worlds.
