06.12.03 Booker Bradshaw Remembered

Recurring Star Trek guest star Booker Bradshaw passed away April 1 in Los Angeles. He was 62.

The multi-talented Bradshaw is best known to Trek fans as the Original Series' Dr. M'Benga, who helped save Spock's life in "A Private Little War" and appeared again in "That Which Survives." He died of a heart attack in a Los Angeles hospital, according to The Detroit News.

Harvard graduate Bradshaw began his varied career as an executive at Motown Records in the early '60s. He worked in a variety of positions at the legendary record company, including as a manager for the Supremes and other Motown acts on their first European tour. He also had success as an actor and screenwriter, appearing in such series as Mod Squad and The F.B.I and writing for shows like Columbo. On the big screen, he appeared in several films, most notably opposite Pam Grier in 1973's "Coffy."

Bradshaw is survived by ex-wife Mayumi Bradshaw and daughter Alaiyo Bradshaw. Written By magazine recently featured a tribute to the late actor/writer.

I know this is vague for a answer but wasn't he one of the crew member killed on that planet where spock and mcoy and some lower crew members were stuck in their shuttle craft from those huge monsters?
