I can't wait for this game to come out! I've read like 1000 reviews and it's gonna be way better than JK2, i especially like the fact that you're a student and can have dual lightsabers or a double-bladed one

I've heard some things about it. Heck, I always check out the new star wars games. I sometimes check out new star trek games, because you have to admit, not all of them are good. But JK3 sounds awesome. So what does that make it, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight 3; Jedi Academy?

^Actually, it technically should be:
Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy.
Regarding Trek games, the only ones I know for sure are good are Elite Force and the upcoming EF2. DS9: The Fallen is good, but its not supported by all systems.

I didn't like it that much. I did like Star Trek Armada. #2 was my favorite, just because I could watch the ships fly by......

Eeeesh don't roll ur eyes at me! I'm joking.
I don't care what the name of it is; if it'll work on my PC I'll play it.
Besides it might be integrated in some way with Jedi Outcast (Perhaps a continuation of some part of the plot in a loose sequel-fashion) in which case it would be Jedi Outcast 2...perhaps...all these numbers are confusing me...I better shut up before I overload...

Well, lets look at the history.
First, there was Dark Forces.
Then, there was Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight.
Third, there was Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast.
By that logic, the next game should be
Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy.

Perhaps we should worry more about how the game will play rather than the name of the game...

Well I don't think either will run on my PC 'cos it's too old but if they did work, Jedi Academy would be the one I'd look forward to the most. Simply because the addition of force powers makes it that little bit different from the normal FPS.

Not necessarily.
Dark Forces <---- The Original Game
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight <---- The next game in the series
Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2; Jedi Outcast <---- A continuation of the
original
If the storyline continues with Kyle Katarn, then it should be:
Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3; Jedi Academy
But if it starts with a new character
Dark Forces 4: Jedi Academy

Well Jedi Knight is part of the Dark Forces series. And do you guys realize that if it isn't a starship game, it involves Jedi Knights, or Force Powers? I mean, I think Dark Forces is the only FPS that doesn't involve the force. Don't misunderstand me, I love the force and the sabers and the whatnot *makes lightsaber sounds*
It kind of makes sense though, at the Heart of Star Wars is the force & Lightsabers.

As far as I know Kyle Katarn wont be in JK3 because they've gotten as far with him as they can...apparently (storywise).

Yeah I heard that Katarn is in Jedi Academy but only as an NPC. The player has to create his/her own character and create his/her own lightsabre etc. Personally, I think the concept sounds pretty good. There's a video on this month's UK edition of PC GAMER and from that its looking excellent.

I don't think an exact date has been announced yet although I'd imagine it'd be either Christmas or just after...I'm not really sure when devellopment started so I'm just guessing.
I hope that they don't rush it out for Christmas leaving it all bugged - it really annoys me when games do that...having to spend ages trawling the internet in seasrch of that elusive 1.04a patch is so annoying
