Has anyone here ever read the book " The old man and the sea"?
Its a very interesting book

Has anyone seen the movie?

It's pretty good although I read the small version...I think it was like 200 pages. I read it in like 3 days...I think that it was a good move on my part to read the small version because I couldn't wait to see if he was gonna make it....it was driving me crazeeee!

Yeah, the book was about meany different things but the story was about this old man that was a fisherman and he went off in the sea to catch fish, then he caught a big one! Bigger than his boat.

Then, the old man Santiago ( I think that was his name) wanted to go back, but the fish was caught on something ( I dont remeber what) and it was pulling his boat our further in the sea. He was with that fish for I think 3 days then he killed it.

Sharks senced the blood so then attacked the fish and ate it.
Then at the ending here he finally comes home, their is just a huge skelliton tied to the front of the boat.

Darn, though!
I feel bad for the Santiago.... cause he was talking to himself like he was.

i felt bad for santiago as well, he spent all that time with his wooden fisshing pole and the sharks got his tuna

When i read it i thaught it was about this crazy old man and a stupid fish but my teacher said to go beond that and when i did I realised that it was a battle of 2 soles figting for life.

I read it when I was a sophomore. I thought it was kind of dll, but that could have been because we had to analyze the crap out of it and it took all fun away from any book... The thing was stock full of Christian symbolism, you could probably write five books just about that.
