There's a demo on the front cover of this month's PC Gamer (the UK edition)...I was gonna get it for the demo alone but I didn't know if it would work on my old, slow computer.
The screenshots I've seen look pretty cool though.

04.21.03 From Voyager to the Enterprise-E in "Elite Force II"
Gamers and Star Trek fans alike who enjoyed "Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force" have a treat in store from Activision and game developers Ritual Entertainment and Aspyr. "Elite Force II" is on its way. The sequel to what PC Gamer Magazine called "the best Star Trek game ever" has launched its official Web site and the game is due in stores in June.
The original game took place aboard the U.S.S. Voyager, when Lieutenant Commander and Security Chief Tuvok (Tim Russ) organized a special Hazard Team (hence "Elite Force") to take on the most precarious of missions and dangerous of adversaries.
Now, the storyline is moved forward to after the return of the U.S.S. Voyager to Federation space, right at the end of the series finale "Endgame." A Borg sphere appears and takes over Voyager. Later, the Hazard Team is stationed aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-E, under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart).
In "Elite Force II" (which is nearly twice as large as the first game), the Hazard Team encounters Romulans, Borg, Klingons, Ferengi, and Andorians, plus a plethora of new creatures and aliens as well as a trio of unique alien species that have never been seen before in the Star Trek universe.
The new game features appearances by such notable Star Trek alums as Stewart and Russ, plus the vocal talents of other Trek alums such as Dwight Shultz, Jeffrey Combs, Tony Todd, J.G. Hertzler, Robert O'Riley, Martha Hackett, and many more.
Multiplayer modes allow players to face off in Holomatches, and the game features an improved arsenal of weapons, including melee weapons like the bat'leth, tetryon Gatling gun, quantum burst and more. The game is powered by the Quake III Arena engine, allowing for more detail in both characters, opponents and environments.
In the game, a massive attack is taking place across the Federation, with nightmarish creatures making easy work of normal defenses, and only the Hazard Team can save the Alpha Quadrant. With missions taking place in environments as varied as volcanic planets, swamps, starship hulls, underground cities of long-lost races, Starfleet Academy or aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-E and beyond, "Elite Force II," like its predecessor, will give fans a chance to explore the Star Trek universe like never before.

Where is the demo set? I mean like, is it on a planet or a ship? Who do you go against, etc...is it worth risking buying the demo if it doesn't work on my computer?

Damn, I couldn't resist it when I saw it in ASDA...
Damn, it doesn't work very well on my computer at all...
The shuttle flies into the space station in the opening sequence realtively ok but once you're actually playing it is virtually impossible. It takes about 2 seconds after you press the keys for him to react...but it looks good from the screenshots in the accompanying magazine and from what I can see in the opening scene...
It's inspired me to play on the original Elite Force though lol

Yeah they are looking rather dated now compared to all the newer games....EF2 scored 84% btw.

^I haven't played it myself, but I've heard that unlike the first game, using the terrain to your advantage is a must with EF2.

I got to the second level, but those big beasts that charge at you made short work of me. Got to the engineer on another attempt but yet again was smushed soon after.

I'm on level 7 right now, it goes from lvl 4 to lvl 7 kinda stupid if you ask me, Avak'stas or whatever his name is died at the weapons locker but i made it, why did i even bother getting that weapon? It hardly had any effect against the monster, not much different than the advanced compression rifle

I think i know what you mean, that guy thats hiding behind the trash can? I headed to the main doors and the monsters jumped me, i was already weakened by the struggle to get there. My weapons don't have much effect against the monsters and the hand phaser drains fast. I'm gonna try again though
