PostFri Jun 06, 2003 7:02 pm    Dr. Pulaski

I watched "Time Squared" today and I noticed that Pulaski is a witch, not only to Data but to Troi, and she was a bit out of line with Picard, he should have decommissioned her for her stunt of calling security on him, Her argument with Troi reminded me of Lily Sloan tho for a minute.

I liked Dr. Pulaski... Her discussions with Jean-Luc were so great.

And... she saved his life!!

1) Good english would have helped me to understand what you were saying.
2) Doctors have a higher authority than Captains. She can medically order him to his quarters or something, and if he didn't comply, she has the full ability to call whoever she wants.

Besides, when you're trying to save someone's life, you really don't care how you do it, you just do it.

1) Excuse me for being in a hurry, but I did fix the post to appese the "Gods"
2) Doctors do not have a higher authority than captains, It is stated in Maritime law that No-One has authority over the captain of a vessal. Authough a Doctor does have authority to releave a captain from duty for medical reasons, if he/she/it deems it necessary, But I believe that Pulaski was out of line with her decision to do so in "Time Squared" she, in My opinion, did not have enough reason to actually call security on the captain.

Partially correct.

Admirals, etc etc etc, have a higher authority in a combat situation than a captain. And the Doctor does have a higher medical clearance. But, you must forgive me, where do you think Doctor Pulaski was out of line?

Pulaski was out of line, when even after the conversation with the empathic counselor, she procedded to call security on the captain nowing that the psychological expert deemed him compitent. And Psychology is not her position she is a Medical doctor sho she can only releave him if he is ill, or injured.

I preferred Crusher to Pulaski throughout the entire series...I don't watch it all that much though; never really liked TNG.

I still don't know the scene your talking about, but Psychology is a part of her field. It's all under medical. If she believes, that even in the slighest, that the captain is under some other influence, or is not fit to command, she has the ability to relieve him. If the commander wants to take that sitting down however.....that's a different story.

Well, in real life, she was fired, because Gates McFadden was back from having her baby (I think that was it), but in the Star Trek Universe, she just got re-assigned

I watched "elementary, dear data" today and I think the only really bad thing about dr. pulaski is that she treated data like a robot or a machine...
that annoyed me a lot...
though i think pulaski is great...

Pulaski was awful. MrsPicard is just jealous of Bev because Bev got her love. Otherwise, I detested Pulaski. Other than her smart sense of humor, she was a waste.

THE EVIL WOMAN FROM HELL!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! KILL IT!! KILL IT!!! If you sense a little hostility towards Pulaski you are correct. HATE her wouldn't want to date her. X-Files fans will understand that. I have every eason on DVD except 2 cause she's in it. She was a poor excuse for Beverly, even though she saved Picard, had Beverly been there she would have done the same. Cept better of course

I don't know, but Pulaski always seemed too big for her britches to me. And yes, I think a certain MrsPicard could be jealous
