as to show he was friendly, Lone Wolf went over and pet the cute little cat. "See." he said quietly, "Nothing to be afraid of, I'm nice." the cat laid back down like it fully understood what he had said. "Back to work." he thought. walking over to the small couch he picked up the old woman's purse and opened it up. A necklace of pearls was tightly wadded inside, along with some silver pieces. Pocketing both the necklace and the money, Lone Wolf began to feel scared. "Something's wrong..." he thought, "This is way to easy."

A bright flash of light confirmed his fear, he had no Idea what it was but the next thing he knew he was knocked n the ground. Looking up he noticed that the small black cat he had pet before had become a huge beast and was now laying on his chest. "G-G-G-Good kitty." Lone Wolf coughed, this cat was HEAVY! He began to pet the cat again showing that he was nice. it slowing began to get lighter and smaller, "Thank god!" he thought, this cat was crushing him. Moving the cat off of him, Lone Wolf got up.

"It's a friggen security system!" he silently gasped clutching he still hurting chest. Looking around he noticed two silver candle holders and a desk drawer which he had yet to examine. Quickly checking the desk he grabbed the gold coins resting in a glass jar, the old womans savings. Grabbing the two candle holders and shoving them into his pack he saw a bright flash of light again but this time he was able to bolt out the door before it got him.

Closing the door As he ran out, Lone Wolf leaned against the door. "I hate my job..." he thought "No job security." Getting up he decided to cash his loot in. Walking back to the Aces and Eights, he entered the Theives Guild to see some new faces looking at him. The Chief stood up and looked at Him. "Back so soon?" he laughed, "For your sake you best have brought something back with you."

Lone Wolf blatently ignored the chief and walked over to Boris. "Cash these in." He grunted Pulling out The Pearl Necklace and Silver Candleholders and placing them on the counter. "Well lets see," Boris said pulling out a conversion sheet. "With Guild cutbacks and current rates, The Necklace and Silver comes out to 250 go-" Boris was cut off as a hand slapped down on Lone Wolfs Shoulder and whipped him around.

((don't spam in my fan fic kid.))

He was suddenly looking into the face of an overly large Brigand "Well I see the Newbie has some game." he grunted, "But is he man enough for the initiation?" Lone Wolf Stared into the Brigands Eyes. "I have more talent in my pinky then you do in that overly large hunk of meat you call a body." The Brigand Flinched and stepped back, Lone Wolf Never broke Eye contact. "Big words coming from a runt." The Brigand reached behind his back to pull something out. "Looking for this?" Lone Wolf asked, Flipping a small throwing dagger in the air. The Brigand just looked at him Dumbfounded. "Ho-how did you??? When Did you?" "Steal your dagger? Easily, a small fetch spell when you went looking." The Brigand began to back away. "Your a Mage thief, I've heard of your kind." "We;re not a kind, thank you." Lone Wolf said in an exasperated voice. This always happened the second he showed a spell. "We're just a group of thieves who took a different route then you normal thieves."

Suddenly, a dagger dug into the ground next to Lone Wolf's foot. He picked the dagger up and looked for it's owner. The Chief Stepped up. "I'm sick of listening to yuou to bicker back and forth," He said "So I'm setting a Thieves duel up for you two. "Again?" The Brigand Whined. The Chief shot a look of pure venom at him. "You are a disgrace Kyle." He shouted "This is a Way to redeem yourself." Kyle the Brigand looked away, too ashamed to say anything. "The Duel Will commence tomarrow night, The first thief to Rob the Sheriff's house and Steal the most Wins."

"Is that all..." Lone Wolf asked

"Yes"

"Good, I look forward to beating you Kyle." Lone Wolf said, "Until Tomarr-" Lone Wolf was cut off before he could even leave.

"Lets do it now" Kyle yelled "Right this very moment."

"Kid do you have that much of a death Wish?" The Chief asked "That moron's already on the lookout because of your last duel with Bruno. If you do it tonight, you won't be alive in the morning."

"Untill Tomarrow then." Lone Wolf finished. "I look forward to this."

"You cocky bas*ard!" Kyle Yelled, Reaching out for him. "I'll kill you!"

Lone Wolf promptly raised his hand and cast his Calm spell. A feeling of Serenity washed over Kyle and the Other thieves.

"No, you won't." Lone Wolf commented as he climbed up the ladder.

Walking out of the Tavern he walked towards the town's gate. He had noticed an inn next to the gates. Hopefully they weren't closed. It was getting cold and he needed a place to stay.

The Katta Tail Inn was a large Inn. it was also dark, If it weren't for the Fact that the door was open Lone Wolf would have figured the place to be closed down. Inside, it was strangely brighter then the windows showed. A strange cat like creature sat by a smoldering Fire, and stood up with great speed when Lone Wolf entered.

"Greetings oh Noble adventurer, If you would like lodgings at this in it costs 5 silvers a night."

"Thank you." Lone Wolf Said handing the Creature the silvers. "May I ask your Name?"

"I am Shameen, a lonley Wanderer from afar. I am a species known as the Katta. My mate and I have been waiting for the Pass to clear so we can go back home, but it's not possible."

"Wow, poor guy, stuck so far from his home" Lone Wolf Thought "My name is Lone Wolf, Adventurer extrodinare."

"It is always nice to meet a fellow wanderer." Shameen said. "I hope you're the one that was spoken of. Good night sir." Shameen Bowed and Opened a door in the back. "This is your room, enjoy."

"Thank you. Good Night Friend." He said Shaking Shameen's Paw.

Walking into the room, He noticed a small bed in the back corner, A lit oil lantern sat on a table next to it. A window was on the other side of the room With nice shades on either sides.

Yawning, Lone Wolf Removed his Boots, Hung up his Jerkin and his cape and put his sword and shield in the corner. Jumping onto the bed, he slipped his dagger under his pillow and layed back. The bed was nice and soft, it was very comfertable. Blowing out his lamp, he layed back and tried to sleep. Slowly slipping into a Dreamstate.

A soft "click" at the window woke him straight from his peaceful slumber. moving slowly he gripped his dagger and waited, making it seem like he was still asleep. In his other hand he prepared a Juggling lights spell, so he could at least see who this intruder was.

Lone Wolf waited until he heard heard footsteps inside his room. Rolling off his bed he used to spell to illuminate the room, Getting ready to throw his dagger, he got a full view of the intruder. Shocked he dropped his dagger...

"what are you of all people doing here Roseann?" Lone Wolf exclaimed looking the Woman up and down. "Last time I saw you was after Graduation of the acadamy, the only time I had the courage to ask you out, and you shot me down faster then a Falcon."

the Petite blonde walked over to the window and closed it. "Times Change as do people."

"But that's not the reason your here, I can tell." Lone Wolf Closed his hand, discontinuing the spell and turned on a light.

"You could always read people," She said, walking over to him "It was a better gift then your Magic."

"It got me where I needed to." he wrapped the sheet around his waist. "I see your thievery hasn't improved much."

"Neither has your tact." She said, shooting a look of pure venom at him.

"Well what brings you here?" Lone Wolf offered her a chair and they both sat down.

"Money, Fame... Maybe even some power."

"So you saw the signs too huh. Well there's more to the story then what it said." Lone Wolf said Looking her over "And none of it is pretty."

"Like what?"

"There's a prophesy to go along with that, There will come a man from the East, To free the man from the Beast, Free the child from the band, And drive the evil from the land.." He smiled as she gave a look of shock. "Thats right, There's always a catch."
