I believe Captain Picard put it best when talking to B4, is that he allowed us to see the best qualities (of that time period) in themselves. I personally like Data because he is Unique, completely unique. There is only one data, and, hmmm, counting Data, there are 2 active Soong-Type Androids, Lore (Dismantled), And Lal (Suffered from a Cascade Failure, Currently Residing in Data's Head)

I liked his inability to grasp simple things common to humans such as humour, love, yawning, sneezing. My favorite episode was the one where he was trying to learn how to sneeze. Funniest thing i've ever seen!!
