I don't like Stargate for that reason lol.
I don't know, I just think that if Enterprise were to become a military-orientated show it would lose the thing that made it Trek. I think DS9 came toed this line also but didn't cross it as not every single episode revolved around the war. Sure, there was the Dominion war arc series of episodes but each episode had its own subplots so that not everything was about the war. Mind you, they'd probably do the same thing on Enterprise...
I'll reserve my judgement until I have actually seen the series I think; hell, I'll probably like it.

I liked ds9 because of the huge battles between the fleets, if enterprise has a litle more action in it i think it would make the show a lot better, but then again i also like the first 2 seasons as well.

I thought the DS9 opener was badass... though I also could toot it on my saxaphone. From a musician's standpoint though, I'd say that the TNG opener was probably the best because of its incorporation of an orchestra, not just a varied amount of instruments. I've never liked the Voyager opener nor will I imagine I ever will. I like Enterprise's opening though... its nice to hear a voice with conviction that's not doing songs for just the money. I almost believe that its a dream to fly into the expanse of space.
Anyways, back to the regular no posting.

I liked DS9 for that reason also. I remember in TNG that IMO, things used to go wrong then things would look bad (eg. weapons charging, warning shots, etc) and then Picard would manage to somehow talk his way out of it. In Voyager though it seemed that Janeway would try and talk her way out of things and then, when that failed, blow her way out. i think Enterprise needs to make a compromise between these two things to make an improvement. I've not seen the latter half of season 2 yet though...

... is a great singer and therefore should not have the theme tune he recorded deleted from the show in exchange for a crappy one

I don't think Enterprise is going completely military. In fact, I think the wierd-unexplainable things happening is going to increase. In TNG there was always wierd stuff happening, which was fun, and I really liked it. In the first two seasons of DS9 they did the wierd unexplainable stuff happening, and then tried to explain it with technobabble any grade 9 science-class graduate could disprove in an instant. Then the series picked up and started dealing with the human phychie and the effects of war, and it was really good.
Voyager did the same thing as the first two seasons of DS9, but kept it up and magnified the horrible aspects of it. They had to much technocrap in there it could make your head spin.
The Vulcans said that there was unexplainable phenomenon, some places where the laws of physics didn't even apply. This gives us the chance to have any sort of wierd phenomena without spending 30 minutes explaining how in hell it's doing it.
If you think about it, that's what Enterprise is missing that the other series had. There is immense potential for the Enterprise series, I hope to god they use every bit of juice they have out of this Delhpic Expanse.
Oh, I restate, if they change the song I'm going to be in revolt.
