I think it's sweet that they married, but I wish they would have explained it better. Oh well. The age difference doesn't bother me too much: I think the idea is that Picard has prematurely aged, b/c he and Jack Crusher were best friends and were the same age, so Beverly's old enough to be married to either of them.

Well, the Captain is married to his job. He just decided to have an affair, with Beverly.

Well the marriage with Beverly was only a future that did not happen like this (and I hope it never will ).

But Beverly as a Captain of a medical ship is a great idea

It was sweet. I never saw it. But the idea is good. I've heard audio clips tho - 'I don't care if you're my ex-captain or my ex-husband', and 'Oh, so *that's* why you married me- Lol!
The age differnce is 19 years, I think....yes. Beverly was born in 2324, Picard in 2305. Is there actually any proof that Jack was the same age as Picard? I didn't know....

Well they were best friends, so that doesn't make much sense that Beverly was so much younger. It would ahve been rape or something.

Yep: (Courtesy of the Daystrom Institute)

2305
Jean Luc Picard is born.

2323
Picard is accepted into Starfleet Academy on his second application.

2324
Beverly Crusher is born.

etc. etc. etc.

2342
Beverly enters Starfleet Academy.

Picard graduates form the Academy.

And it did mention they were best friends.

Geez, I never realized the age difference between those two was so great. I thought it was like ten years or something, but not nineteen! Oh well. The age difference doesn't bother me too much. If they were alot younger it would, but once people get older, age doesn't seem as much of a major factor to me for some reason.

I would have liked to learn more about their marriage and reason for their divorce in AGT though. I mean, they still seemed like good friends, so the marriage must have ended on good terms.

I never did get the relationship between bev and picard. If i were bev, then I would hate picard for letting my husband die and then when I found out they got married, it all sounded silly to me

Well, Picard has always had a thing for Beverly, and they touched on that a few times throughout the series, but never went anywhere with it, which I think is why I liked the marriage in the finale (hey, they even had a kiss in the "present" ).

As for Picard letting Jack die... I don't think it was on purpose or that he just didn't want to save him. I can't remember the details of what happened, or if they ever even explained that, but I do remember the episode where Wesley takes the test to enter Starfleet Academy, and he was to pass this psych test about his worst fear. In the test, they had a mock warp core breech in progress, or something like that, and he had to either try to save a man lying on the floor, helpless to save himself, or try to save another perfectly physically able yet extremely frightened man who just refused to walk across the floor to the exit... and that whole thing was supposed to be related to how his father had died.

Ok, this is my first time posting here so i'd just like to say HI! to everyone. I think that Picard and Crusher should have stayed together and i really hated how at the end of the episode none of it had happened!!! DAMN WRITERS!

I loved the P/C pairing. Don't deny the chemistry; they are a match.
