Picard is in his room and whenever someone knocks on his door he says, "Come."
I think they should've picked another line for him to say instead of that one. How about, "Come in." I just don't like the way the former sounds.

I think he has just shortened "Come in" to "Come" because it's easier. He's not always hoping Beverly is at the door.

Why would people argue (disucss, if you wish) something so trivial as if "come" sounds good for the show. It's even a complete sentance...there's nothing wrong with out

Is there a John Luck Picard here.

Yeah but it sounds so funny. If I were on that ship I would keep going to his room just to hear him say that

It's just one of those really strange things that is funny to some people but annoying to the rest. It's like voyager, how after they talk to an alien race on the view screen, Tom goes 'Friendly fellow' or of course theres the doc who goes i'm a doctor, not a ... whatever. Something that gets really annoying after a while

Same with Janeway's "Understood?" and "[don't ask me any questions or comment, just] Do it."
