Heh, interesting episode, to say the least.

But Tripp should've been demoted for that.

7.5/10

My Official Review: 9.5/10

This episode was by far one of the best Ive seen to date on Enterprise. I give it two thumbs and two big toes up. The script was superb; the sideshow with Malcolm Reed and the Vissian tactical officer was entertaining to say the least. The overall story combined a delicate balance of humor and solemnity which makes the episode stand out in this series. I must applaud Becky Wahlstrom, the female cogenitor, excellent acting on her part made this episode believable.

I can honestly say that this is the first time I can honestly say that I was looking at Captain Archer. His scenes with the Vissian captain were excellent. His genuine curiosity, and human spirit showed through to the audience in a way that I personally connected with him as a captain. In his dealings with Trip, this was the most decisive Ive ever seen Captain Archer, and I can say without a doubt that those scenes were a credit to his character. Scott Bakula truly seems that hes finally coming into his own and I congratulate him on a job well done.

Conner Trinneer and Dominic Keating play their characters, Trip Tucker and Malcolm Reed, exceptionally well. It is my opinion that these two share the playful teenager role of the ship. However, whereas Reed is a by the book officer and would not have interfered, Tucker is much more unpredictable and shows a genuine interest in the feelings of others. Im somewhat curious how the events of this episode will impact Conner Trinneers depiction of Trip Tucker in future episodes. I also must also say that I enjoyed the scenes between Reed and the Vissian tactical officer. Those scenes helped breakup the general serious mood of the episode and added a bit of humor. My only displeasure with this episode is that I felt Tucker should have been punished, my reason for giving the episode a 9.5. I think a punishment would have given me a greater sense of closure to the episode rather than just ushering Tucker out of the Captains readyroom.

Jolene Blalock, Anthony Montgomery, and Linda Park all played minor roles as TPol, Travis Mayweather, and Hoshi Sato respectively. Actually I think that Travis wasnt on screen for more than ten seconds, nor was Sato. Even without their presence, the episode was superb. Jolene Blalock played an excellent TPol. As a Vulcan, her character is capable of adding subtle bits of humor here and there as well as contributing to the solidarity of a few scenes. Overall, I think that Jolene Blalock was a really nice pick as TPol and I think that as the series continues, her portrayal of TPol will only improve.

It was indeed quite good! A surprise, actually. The promos did do it justice.

This is the sort of quality that ENT should be putting out every week.

I liked that episode. I couldn't believe that she committed suicide. I agree that more episodes should be like that. I think that they should have more 2 part episodes.

great ep, the suicide at the end was very suprising didn't expect that at all, great story overall 9/10

I think more 2 part epz are need also, like in the case of judgement it was just die-ing to be a 2 parter.

Indeed. Shows nowadays must use real drastic or hard hitting subjects to get the audience's attention, have you noticed that?
