PostMon Apr 21, 2003 4:05 pm    Rebuilding Iraq

Who do you guys believe should rebuild Iraq?

In my opinion I think a combined effort of Middle Eastern Countries and The Coalition countries and not the countries that criticised the Coalitions efforts.

I agree with you. I don't think that the UN should have anything to do with it.

Well the Coalition Countries had to fund their own War, we had no support from the UN financially so why should they reign on our Parade?

The Coalition countries should rebuild Iraq. The U.N will just try to sophine money away from Iraq or uphold their petty corporations who pay bribes to all their senators.

Then we should attack Syria and all the other Axis of evil.

The U.N. is a worthless organization now. They proved their de-functness over this war.

Obviously, the U.N. has no compassion for Middle eastern countries. They'd rather sit idely by while people suffer than make the sacrafice of helping them.

The U.N. not only has no power any more, they have no credibility. It started out to be a good organization in theory, but I hope there's a new re-organization to the U.N., or maybe a whole re-tooling of the system, much like how the League of Nation turned into the UN after/during WW1/2.

Iraq needs help. Look what they did w/ their first taste of freedom, looted everything. It is going to be the way Iraq wants it, but even they know they need help.

A better way of stating that would be middle eastern extremests. I have a number of muslim friends who happen to love America, and would'nt be happy about that comment.

I think this is a good opportunity to show said group, which you so axiomatically refer to as 'muslims', that we mean well. Many do not trust us. They think we are conquerers, and they think we are out for blood. They beleive this because they have corrupt news sources, which are run only by those who truly hate us. A good way to teach is by example. If we successfully make a Iraq a democratic paradise, we can set example for other countries, like Iran, Jordan and Syria to seek the same.

If we show this successfully, we can educate, we can help, we can finally put an end to the extremeist terrorism which the ignorance pumped into their head from their goverment, has caused!

I think they should do as much as they can themselves, but with some help from the west. It's their country, not anyone else's, no one should dictate how it's runned-within limits, of course.
