PostTue Apr 22, 2003 11:58 am    Enterprise episodes :D

I've heard people saying on this forum that many/most of the Enterprise episodes are so bad, that they've been rehashed from other episodes etc etc...I've seen some other Star Trek series, such as DS9 and Voyager but no TNG or TOS so to me, the episodes seem ok (definately room for improvement though) and I wondered what would be a good episode. I know this may sound daft but I was thinking about what would make it better. Ultimately after 12 seconds of thinking I had to go for a lie down...I just wondered what would be a good episode from your point of view

Well, the fact that an episode is a rehash doesn't by itself make it a bad episode. Heck, most of the first two seasons of Stargate are things that have been done in TNG.

However, ENT doesn't add new twists. They give us the same old stories, *exactly* as they were told before. Now, occasionally they do make use of their premise to give us original and entertaining episodes like "Cease Fire". However, those are few and far between. Its not unreasonable to demand that level of quality, *at least*, every week.

I try to catch it every Wednesday, so I think it's good. This is just the second season of a new series. Looking back at the first few seasons of TNG, DS9, Voy ... they were not as good as the last few. Especially Voy and TNG's first couple season. I like to forget those years.

I think that Voyager definately got better as it went on; I hope Enterprise does the same. I have seen up to episode 13 of Season 2 on VCD but because it isn't showing on terrestrial UK TV at the moment I will have to wait for that. I thought Shockwave was a good episode as was Carbon Creek...Minefield was ok, nothing special, and then Dead Stop was a real good episode and it seemed ok for a couple of episodes...and then I watched a "Night in Sickbay" I think it's called...and it was terrible lol...I thought that must be the worst Enterprise episode in my opinion...I loved the special effects in "The Catwalk" as well although I didn't like Dawn or the one with the "frozen woman in a tube" (lol I can't remember the title of that one).

What's Cease Fire about?

^Can you believe "A Night In Sickbay" was nominated for a Hugo?

Enterprise has put out nothing Hugo-worthy yet, and even though some episodes deserve at least a nomination.....*that* isn't one of them.

There isn't an emoticon which shows enough surprise to use for that!? Really?! My god, HUGO's can't count for much these days if that's been nominated. What did it get nominated for? lol, I'm shocked!

I'm sort of enjoying enterprise, well more keen to see what next weeks episode has in store.

I actually can't wait to see this borg episode 'regeneration', for some reason.

"Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form". The Short form is a new thing; up until this year, movies and TV episodes competed against each other. Now TV episodes have their own catagory.

But still. Only four Trek episodes have won Hugos in the past, including "All Good Things" and "The Visitor". That they could even *compare* ANIS to those is laughable.

Anyway, I'm rooting for Firefly: "Serenity" to win that Hugo instead.

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
That's quite funny lol

...still no sign of any Season 2 in the UK as far as I know
Excuse me while I cry

Also, I'm sick of having TNG on without any other Trek. BBC2, a UK TV Channel, has shown nothing but TNG for ages now. Whilst this may be good for TNG fans, it is exceptionally dull for people like me who don't like TNG. I wish they'd have one day of TNG and then the other of DS9 or Voyager rather than two days of TNG....lol I'm insane...
