Okay, here's something that I've been wondering about for awhile now. Okay, you go onto the holodeck, and you stay there for, lets say, a week. You eat the holographic food, you interact with the holographic people, and so on. The food you eat there is used by your body to do the normal bodily functions, cell growth and all..... What I want to know is, when you step out of the holodeck, wouldn't you kinda die? Since your body had been using holographic food to create new cell tissue, wouldn't that tissue get stripped away once you are outside the holodeck? Am I making any sense here?

I don't think your body would process the holographic material.

But then how would you be able to survive?
This is kinda far-fetched, but what if you were to spend ten years in the holodeck? By that time, everything that was organic in you will have been replaced by holographic things, cells, nerve tissue, bones.... would that mean that if you stayed in the holodeck for that long that you would become a hologram? With all your cells replaced by holograqhic ones?

You wouldnt be able to survive. Since holographic food isnt real. Your body wouldnt digest it since holograms are just light. Nothin' more, nothin' less.

I believe the food in the Holodeck is replicated food...although, I may be wrong.

Actually, the holograms are made up of forcefields and light... and some of the stuff is replicated instead of made from a hologram

I don't think the computer for the holodeck would keep up. It would have to constantly keep up with every single cell in the body. It's very confusing when u think of it.

Okay, but how can the computer decide what food to make holographic and which to replicate? Lets say you're in a tavern. A hologram orders a mug of ale. It starts to drink it, but you decide you want it. You take the mug from the hologram, and drink the ale yourself. Now, was the hologram drinking holographic ale or real replicated ale? And when you took the mug from it, did the ale stay holographic, or did get replaced by replicated ale. If it was replaced, why would you not see the flicker of light that is accociated with the replication process?

I have a theory. The foods and drinks in the holodeck are not made up of complex forcefields and as soon as a real person either eats food or drinks the holographic foods or drinks dematerialize from inside their stomache
