At least the Japanease attacked military targets. 1000's of innocent people were killed in japan. Yes the soldiers were innocent to i guess but they're in the army.

Obviously you don't know your history.

The Japanese were given a chance to surrendur unconditionally. It is predicted that we would've lost up to 1,000,000 American Soldires and many, many civilians had we invaded Japan, which was the only other viable solution.

The Japanese fought visciousilly in WW2, the carnage would've been so much more catostrophic had we not done what we did.

It's sad that we had to do it, but in the end, it was nessissary. Most of the Japanese of today even realize it was the proper cource of action.

It was sad, but the best descision at the time.

Don't waste your time. Links were provided that showed more lives, ON ALL SIDES, were saved, but disregarded. We even have a topic regarding this.

Well the soldiers that dropped the bomb didnt think it was right.

One of 'em comitted suicide. The others almost went mad.

And why a nuclear bomb? You could've used regular bombs instead. That way you would have avoided too many civilan casualties and, you also would have spared all those people that are being born deformed or handicapped in Hiroshima.

I think we all need to calm down here.

If lightning boy feels he is right, why are you attacking his beliefs? You will never convince.

I personally resent that the following is forgotten:

We all live in peace. It is something we didn't have to fight for. We never experienced a real war. We are becomming scared of violence. We can't kill the murderers amongst us. It is Inhumane we say.
This is our generation. We forgot the sacrifices our grandparents made for us to be able to live in freedom. And now we are not able to make smaller sacrifices to ensure the freedom of our children.

We have become apathetic. We will not fight for our freedom. Oh yes, we will argue. But when a dictator is removed to ensure a country can live in freedom we say : Da*n Bush!!!! We hate your War!!!!!

Easy for us to say!! We don't live under his regime. Yeah, other say, the USA can use that money for their own citizens (how selfish). The question you guys must ask yourselfs is : What will you give away to ensure your freedom?

That's not exactly right. Hiroshima was years after PH.

You were asked for documentation, not repetition.

No.

The Japanese did'nt surrendur unconditionally.

Considering any of the alternatives, weighing all the choices, millions of soldiers and civilians would've died, we can be thankful that ONLY 180,000 died. When do you realize that spock said it best? "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." It needed to be done and it was morally, politically, and economically the best descision we could've made.

I must say that I find it funny when people who hate america, watch american movies, listen to american music *cough*eminem*cough*

I think people just want something to bitch about, and I also think that since the whole japan thing happend a long time ago, and has nothing to do with the current war, so it should be dropped.

oh, I just heard that troops found a 100 acre chemical weapons facility about 90 miles from bagdad.

Hans Blicks could'nt find his own hand if he was scratching his face.

Conan O'brien made fun of him best: He had him come out on Valentine's day, to find a big chocolate heart that Conan hid somewhere in the studio. After 30 seconds, the Blicks look alike said that there was no Chocolate heart to Conan who was blatantly eating it, with chocolate ALL OVER his face.
