Troi and Worf definitely were an odd couple. I think that they did it for Alexander, and for the comedy between Worf and Troi's mom.

I would take Crusher or Troi. They both are very attractive and sexy. Also, maturity has it's advantages.

In one of the books I was reading (I think it was a book on the entire TNG series, really can't remember), they said something about how Deanna always cared for Alexander, so I do think that is what started it.
Personally, I think Worf fit far better with Jadzia--Deanna just...didn't go well with him. Jadzia had the energetic spirit that went best with him.

He was!! The fat, old, balding British (or apparently French-Canadian, depending on who you ask) guy! *makes a face*
I honestly don't understand the linking of Troi to Worf. She's all peaceful and "I'm a counselor, I'm extremely in touch with my feelings, and I come from a planet where we're all telepaths who are really into art!" and he's like "Yes, I'm a Klingon, war is very, very good! To die in battle is to die in honour!" There's just really not much sense in that union there...
