Fri Jan 31, 2003 6:21 am Upcomming Episode Judgement *WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS* |
|
Quote: | Captain Archer stands accused before a Klingon tribunal of conspiring against the Empire, and his only hope of escaping a death sentence or life in the dilithium mines of Rura Penthe is an aging and disenchanted Klingon lawyer with little energy or enthusiasm for the case. |
This actually looks like a decent episode. Nicely done on continuity from TOS.

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

Where have we seen that plot before? Oh yeah, all the other Star Trek shows. I wouldn't mind it if they actually wrote ENT episodes better than the episodes they ripped off, but they can't.

Well. It's becomming increasingly difficult to write entertaining star trek episodes because there current writers have already used up every idea they know. Fire the writers i say. They have done there good for star trek.

It is indeed very hard to come up with new material. But I'm sure it will be quite different than any other Star Trek show, simply because of the setting.
Whereas, Red Quacker, your sarcasm and cynicism is always a new, refreshing and exciting thing to read.

If it were easy, any Braga off the street could make a television show. That's why you hire writers, you know, people who can come up with new material.
Berman: "Come on, people, let's write an episode that isn't a copy of any previous Star Trek episodes."
Braga: "No, it's too hard to come up with new material."

I think the new series "TITAN" will suck even worse, if it's hard to come up with a storyline so far in the past, then it's gonig to be even harder to come up with one in the future where every other series has been.

I take it from what you're saying that Titan is going ahead? I thought it was just a rumour- I don't think it'll be very good as, in my opinion, the TNG characters are too old ...I didn't like Nemesis for that reason. I know it isn't really a proper reason...and I never really liked TNG anyway so I guess I shouldn't really comment...still I'd watch Titan simply because it's Trek.

I've heard nothing about a Titan series. Frakes would be willing, though, I'm sure.

Maybe and maybe not! I would love to see another Star Trek though; but damn, Frakes is already like 46 or so... seven seasons later, he's an old man that can't even walk straight without giving himself a hernia.
Come on guys. Think... outside the box.... 'Los'...

Erm, it does warn you that there are spoilers doesn't it????
I know what you mean about the law thing as well. I thought the same thing when I saw the Voyager episode Non Sequitir (I think) where Paris gets accused of killing someone. Within that same week I had seen the episodes where Odo and Jadzia get put on trial and the one where Data got put on trial (Measure of a Man I think) and I was just sick of it by this point. Unfortunately this Enterprise episode sounds a bit like this all over again. Still I'll watch it anyway lol.
