No theories? Is it now silent, like in one of the books, did they put guards on it? If the Klingons or one of the Federations other enemies ever found it, that would be the end of humanity.

I did not get mad, twit. It is on The City on the Edge of Forever, starring Joan Collins. One of the most well known, and best TOS episodes.

It's much better than any Borg hub. It can go any TIME, or any PLACE.

Well, if you consider "The Animated Series" cannon, then Kirk and co. returned to the Guardian. This link will show you what I mean. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Stargate/3751/Yy.html
The City on the edge of forever was one my favorite episodes out of all Startrek. It was really a really great episode.

I'm not sure about the animated series being canon, even though it was the original cast that provided the voices. But I'm always open to different perspectives. I am leaning towards it, though.

Well, Gene Roddenberry did produce it and he wrote most of the stories you're right about the actors doing the voices. In fact, for a while it was even considered cannon. But certain episodes like the "counter-clock incident" were so "impossible" that they decided to decannonize the show.

Yeah, I had heard that Paramount only considered one or two of the animated shows canon.

That Guardian Of Forever sounds awesome, I agree with you, better than any Transwarp hub.

there's only one problem with the guardian of forever, he can't stop the time in one place, you have to find the exact time and place before you go through or you could end up anywhere, anytime.

Yes, but isn't that what tricorders are for?

good point but tricorders always have a small precent error margin. so you could want to be in one time, track it with the tricorder, jump in when the tricorder tells you to and end up in the wrong time by accident.

W/ technology like that, though, I'd probably be willing to take that chance. You?

not unless you want to screw up time, thats why the Temporal Time Directive was made. the reason they don't use it anymore is probably because of that. there are most likly people guarding it so nobody can use it

LOL yeah, I realize that. I just meant the risk factor itself. Remember, sometimes you have to be willing to take some chances and break a few rules. Not that that is a credo to live by, by any means.

the risk involved would be cool, the only thing is if you change history by going back to the past, like someone sees you just appear. they could die from shock, that might not seem like much, but what if they were one of the founders of the federation

In the DS9 "Millenium" book trilogy, there is mention made of Admiral Janeway leading a team to the guardian to try to change the past and save the Federation. However, the area was turned into a black hole by some weapon or other, and the entire team died. Good thing that timeline never happened!
