I had to write a Shakespearean sonnet for ENglish class: hope everyone likes it!
Sonnet 1
Even as he beckons to me, teasing
Tugging at the corners of awareness,
He dares me to find a way of pleasing,
This hungry heart, battling its emptiness.
Identity, he that hides in shadow;
That feints and parries from eternal night,
Jousting with the soul outside your window,
Masquerading as enlightenment bright.
Rare, forbidden glimpses of my true being
Force explanations taboo yet cherished;
The traitor of my heart, from truth fleeing,
Only mind remains: the soul has perished.
And yet with time Identity will see
All those who fear him: all those who fear me.
