On the other side, the girl on this cover isn't bad either. Not sure if its supposed to be Tahiri and Anakin Solo, or Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker. The guy looks too young to be Luke, and the storyline would better fit with these being Anakin and Tahiri.

I haven't read much star wars books the last ones I read were about some ancient sith called Exar Kun possesing a student of Luke's called Kyp Durron. I really should read more

I used to have loads of Star Wars books. They were great. And then I went off Star Wars and sold them all. Now I am left with nothing to read (other than countless more Star Trek books which seem to be getting more and more boring as I go on). I wish I hadn't sold those books. OOOo yes the X-Wing series was great!!!

I was gonna get all of the DS9 relaunch including that one but I could never find it...and the first 2Mission Gamma books were so boring I nearly fell asleep. I like books with loads of action in and MG 1&2 had too much "analysing" and not enough "doing" if that made sense. I think I'm slowly going off Trek

(I know; no doubt I shall have to redeem myself at some later date.

^I suggest you try the other two M:G books. I too got kind of bored with the first two, but the third is a big improvement, and the last one really pays off.

Want a hint? Think of an early TNG storyline that was never resolved. I'm not saying any more than that......

I already have the other Mission GAmma books. Book 3 was a slight improvement and Book 4 was pretty good. I wish they had made the fourth book as long as the others -it was the best and also the shortest. I bought a Star Wars book yesterday lol, "The Approaching Storm". It's very good

Can anybody recommend a NJO book? I'm interested in starting reading them but want a good one to start on

I know most of the characters I think (from the other Extended Universe books- Have read most books up to X-Wing Starfighters of Adumar". Cheers

^You really need to start at the beginning----Vector Prime.

Beware: there's a rather shocking plot twist in it. Some people have quit reading because of it. Keep going---trust me on this.

If you really don't like that book, it won't hurt a *whole* lot to skip to Dark Tide: Onslaught.

Regarding the characters----you should read at least the first couple of Young Jedi Knights books, and the first Junior Jedi Knights book. Yes, they're young adult, but they're reasonably good considering, and they introduce some characters who become important later in the NJO.
Also "I, Jedi"-----it follows directly on from the X-Wing series. If you haven't read the Jedi Academy Trilogy, be aware that "I, Jedi" retells a lot of that, so if it seems like you're missing parts of the story----that's where they are.

The only other books I would recommend prior to the NJO are the Hand of Thrawn duology, and possibly the Corellian trilogy.

The Chiss are frickin awesome. Thrawn is the best villain in my opinion, he uses strategies! It's not like all the others where everything just falls miraculously into place and then right at the end the NR wins. Wicked awesome books.

Nothing in my opinion. Although I do now prefer Wars over Trek as I think Trek has rapidly deteriorated. Personally, I think Nemesis was a shambles with too much talking and not enough action. My girlfriend fell asleep in it which doesn't say much although she doesn't like Trek so perhaps thats why.

But weren't all the actors saying that they were really excited about Nemesis???? Perhaps it's just me...originally, I thought Enterprise was really good but now it seems to me that they are recycling more and more storylines and the ones that are original just don't interest me in the way trek used to.
I think that the original trilogy still surpasses the 2 current prequels even though my favorite film is AOTC...I liked the idea of an arc storyline in Star Wars which was also a reason why I liked Babylon 5. I think that they should put alot more emphasis on this "temporal cold war" thing on enterprise as at the moment I don't think it creates enough drama as it is. Hmm...I think I'm rambling now so I better go...

But yes, I think it is possible to like them both but Star Wars is now my favourite.

NJO just kills off main characters every few books and it's starting to get on my nerves. And about the pic...it's too old to be anakin...He's in his mid teens. So you're right link...and then of course as you said, that's Luke's lightsaber because Anakin's is violet.
