gs information for Enterprise if we want to find out about Enterprise's future. That should confirm rumors of ENT's cancellation or put them to bed.

Now, what we would need is this:

Ratings for ENT, and for VOY, DS9 and TNG in their first two seasons, for comparison.

Ratings for other shows in ENT's same timeslot, on competing networks.

Ratings for the other shows on ENT's network, to see if ENT is one of their best or worst-earning shows.

It's difficult, but we have a lot of people at our disposal, so let's get to it!

I don't have specific data here, but I've seen it. TNG, DS9, and VOY all did better in their first two seasons than ENT's current level. While ENT started off high, it has since dropped to 40% of its original viewers.

Heck, Firefly kept 80% of its initial audience, and it was still cancelled. Of course, Fox is somewhat more demanding than UPN.

40%???

Enterprise must be considered a very bad TV show by the people who watch it if 60% stop watching it completely! How can they possibly make that up??

I disagree. I think it is more of a lack of rumors that make people think that, and jump to conclusions. ENT is defaintly not struggling at the moment.

errrr, where did you get 40% from? That does not sound quite right.

Compare the ratings of Broken Bow to the ratings of the latest new episode. Do the math.

So this means 3 out of 5 people who saw Broken Bow thought Enterprise was too boring to watch again. If it were an election, this would be a landslide. But the real question is, will UPN afford the gamble of trying to improve ENT?

^Well, not exactly. Its slid to 40% now, but it was a gradual drop-off.

That may be even worse news. If it has been gradually dropping off, that is a trend that suggests the ratings will continue to get worse until the only people who watch ENT anymore are the editors.

I don't think that they don't choose to watch it but rather, look at its timeslot.

Here, in Texas, its on Wednesday. That's NOT a good time for it. Thursday or Friday would be better, as Fox aired the new episodes of TNG on Fridays. Same with DS9 before UPN took it over.

Weird. I'm surprised how high Charmed's ratings are in comparison to Smallville and Buffy. I wouldn't have guessed that at all...

PostSat Mar 08, 2003 6:23 pm    Enterprise is

Enterprise is an ok show, I think it was alot bettre int he beginning, I don't watch it as often as I used to, I think most viewers don't enjoy it as much because we already know about all the aliens and technolical advances that they are making and also, I think older technology turns most people off, I mean not to many people enjoy the original startrek as they do DS9, Vouyager, or TNG
