Besides the holoprojecter limits why do they bother making Androids when holograms can serve the same purposes?

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

Because they're self-contained. That's pretty much it.

Remember, there is only one mobile emitter though. Since it's so futuristic, they can't replicate it.

the bad thing about holograms is that holo-emitters can easily be ripped off the hologram as seen in the episode "Flesh and blood parts 1-2"

Yeah, that happened a few times... But it's not like androids are invulnerable either. Get a device that disrupts positronic networks and Data's out of commission. In my opinion, both androids and holograms play important roles. Niether is much superior or inferior overall.

Another point. It takes a lot of tech and resources to build an android when those resources could go into building ships. That's why IMO androids will die out.

Maybe, maybe... But first, Dr. Zimmerman needs a personality overhaul.

^Except that androids have a more physical here and now since they are actually made of matter while EMH's are forcefields and light.

Aside from Data, were there any other androids in any of the series? I know Lore was there, and Lal, but those two weren't really stable.....
