Yeah, I don't order on the net. I just came back from town. I ordered Shockwave and Mission Gamma Books 3 and 4 from WH Smith and it says they'll be there by Tuesday!

Yey! I hope u get em, I know that Shockwave is good but I havn't read gammas 3 or 4 yet so i dont know about those. I think the Nanotech War is one of the best Voyager books I have read, I havn't spotted any inconsistencies yet

Yup, and they were. I picked them up on Tuesday! Can't wait to read them. I've read Gateways 3 and 4 now, on 5.

Yey you got them! Well I just spent the last week at my Grandmas so without access to a computer I have been doing alot of reading. I finished Mission Gamma Book 2 and thought it was only marginally better than Gamma 1. Book 3 is OK so far and book 4 looks like the best of the lot even if it is small compared to the other books. I also bought Section 31 Rogue from Meadowhall and the Insurrection novelisation which was 3.99 in The Works. I have Dark Matters book 1 on my desk but I havn't read it yet. Lol I'm getting quite a big pile of books to read; I seem to be buying them faster than I can read them. Oh yes and on an urgent toilet stop in British Home Stores I discovered Starfleet Command (the game- I do not know if there are books of the same name) for 4.00...I got it and it takes some getting used to lol....aish I felt daft gettin it from BHS...lol the pay desk was right in the middle of the womens lingerie- i was quite embarrassed lol. I saw The Lives of Dax and Rising Sun today in the Sheffield Space Centre but did not get them because I did not have enough money

You can't buy evrything. Rogue is good, I thought it was the best S31 after Abyss. I picked up The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, Generations (I think ) and First Contact novelisations a while back.... haven't read any of them yet.

Wow lol I have the novels of Wrath of Khan, and Generations, First Contact as well. It annoyed me in Generations how the Borg's weapons were called "Death rays". It just sounded really cheesey to me lol. I have all the Section 31 books now except for the TOS one but I probably wont get that one as I'm not too keen on that series. Abyss was really good though. I'm nearly through Mission Gamma 3 now...90 pages to go...Oh yes and I got the 7th Gateways book in paperback as well although I havn't started reading it yet. I forgot about that one lol. and the Endgame novel off of ebay lol...argh so many books, such little time

Thanks even though I changed it already. I thought the TOS S31 was quite good, better than Shadow, but I guess it was a little weak. I picked up the Nemesis novel and Imzadi II: Triangle on Saturday when I went into Chester. I've had Imzadi for a while because I found it in a Collector's shop so I'm really glad about that, and I haven't even seen the movie of Nemesis yet. I got Gateways 7 in hardback a wile ago, I'm on #5 at the moment so hopefully I'll be there soon. I also got two videos from Chester for 8.99 each. One has "Year of Hell" and "Scorpion" on, the other has "The Killing Game" and "Equinox", I'm really pleased.

Poor you, having to go to another country to get your Star Trek books and videos ;P

(Don't worry... I used to go to Wales for my "Educational Outdoor Activity Holidays", oh, and for my GCSE Geography coursework )

I *probably* could have ordered the books in Rhyl, but every so often I go to Chester and they were there, so....

But Rhyl doesn't have many big video stores and Chester does.

Hey all, I heard that there's a new Enterprise book coming out in October/November entitled "Enterprise: Daedulus" or something? Is this true or did I dream it up? And also, is there a site which lits upcoming book releases...www.psiphi.org or something used to be one I used but I think I lost the link because I can never find it again now lol.

Surak's Soul came this morning and I've started reading it. 5.99 and it's tiny! I couldn't believe it! I think they should make the books a bit longer and a bit more detailed...I think they're classed with children's books now on Amazon lol.

I havn't seen it any any shops but according to Amazon it was released early March. I finished it and despite its size and being a little slow to start, I thought it was a really good book. The best Enterprise one out in my opinion

I've got loads of Star Wars NJO books to read as well; I've only read 1 1/2 so far but they're pretty good so far. And yes, it cost me a bomb lol. I sent my mum on a mission today whilst she's in town. In Virgin Megastore they're selling posters of schematics of the NX-01 for 3.99 so fingers crossed she comes back with the right one lol.

Just came back from town, got this month's Star Trek Monthly and a Mother's Day present. I'll have to check which books I need to get and sort it out later.

I've actually taken a time-out from SW/ST to read the Dune books. I'm about half way through Children of Dune now.

I'm on Star Wars:NJO: Star by Star now...tis a good book dis one

Enterprise Daedalus is on Amazon.co.uk but I can't find anywhere what it is about...on Amazon it is listed at having 288 pages but on SimonSays it says it has 480 pages...I wonder which it is...I hope it has 480 pages because I don't think that the majority of current Star Trek stories are long enough...other than Mission Gamma which I thought were the right length Of course I didn't actually like those books so I guess that's a mute point lol.

Got this from http://www.psiphi.org/cgi/upc-db/0743471180.html about that Enterprise "Daedulus" novel :

"Enterprise
Mass-Market Paperback / October, 2003
Length undefined
0-7434-7118-0

Written by Dave Stern

Description:

October 5, 2140. After a half-dozen years of research and testing, Starfleet prepares to launch its first warp 5 vessel--Daedalus. Propelled by a radical new engine designed by Earth's most brilliant warp field theorist, Victor Brodesser, the new ship will at last put the stars within mankind's reach.

But on the eve of her maiden voyage, a maintenance engineer, Ensign Charles Tucker III--"Trip" to his friends--discovers a flaw in Daedalus's design. When he confronts Brodesser, the scientist--as charismatic as he is brilliant--eases Trip's concerns. The ship launches on schedule--and as Trip watches in horror, it explodes in a catastrophic matter/antimatter reaction, killing all aboard.

Thirteen years pass. Still haunted by memories of that disaster, Trip now serves as chief engineer aboard Enterprise. When a freak explosion cripples his vessel, leaving her helpless before a surprise attack, Trip is forced to abandon his ship--and his shipmates. As he is on the verge of mounting a desperate rescue attempt, however, a shocking turn of events forces him to confront the ghosts of Daedalus one final time.

Notes
"The author had 'First Flight' and re-fitted his story so it still works, and tru[th]fuly it even works better now that we have seen Trip in 'First Flight'." -- Margaret Clark, editor"

^A note on that one. There's nothing to suggest that the ship involved is Deadalus-class, although its possible that class was named after this ship.

It more likely refers to the Greek myth.

Yeah 'cos the Daedulus was from around the time of the Romulan War wasn't it? I'm guessing it's just the name of the ship rather than the name of the class in this case.
