I was just bored and my mind started to wonder. I said to myself "hey, i wonder what would happen if the next series that came after enterprise WASN'T based on the federation and humans" meaning why can't the next series be based on the borg or the klingons or the romulans? Any thoughts?

Star Trek is about the Terran adventure, not really about the non-Homo Sapiens. So I do not believe that that would work.

I agree however I think a good series could be a series with say a non-human captain, we've seen many good captains from Black to female so I think that Starfleet's next captain in a series should be Alien

I recall reading that Paramount was considering doing a series that took place on a Klingon ship...this was before Enterprise premiered.

^ I think that'd be cool. We've learned alot about Klingons, but it was always in a situation seeing how they interact w/ other species. Never really about how they intercact with each other.

I'd like to see another side to the federation I.E non-ordinary starfleet officers like possibly the Federations version of Judge Advocate General, or the federation's diplomatic ambassadors the list goes on.

I wouldn't be too thrilled about a series based around a different race, but I like the idea of a non-human captain, that should be something seriously considered for a future trek series.

That's a great idea. (yes, I know you all know what caught my attention, ), but it really is a good idea. There'd still be plenty of action, and aliens and stuff, but just a different look at the 'Fleet, and the Federation. All we ever see is the 'cowboys'.

There's an upcoming book series called Star Trek: IKS Gorkon.
The Gorkon crew has already featured prominently in TNG: Diplomatic Implausibility (an Ambassador Worf novel, post-DS9) and the new multi-series duology, The Brave and the Bold.
Incidentally, The Brave and the Bold is the first duology to feature all *five* of the TV series captains, including Archer.

Originally they were going to have a line for him that "Diplomacy didn't agree with me", but it was cut. So far all we know, he still is an Ambassador, and simply wore his old Starfleet uniform out of respect to Picard.
Still, given the storyline they could have done a lot more with his character if they made him obviously an ambassador.

I thought Ambassadors had starfleet uniforms but wore different Diplomatic rank pips with Ranks like envoy, consul and others

I am not sure, but Worf came to serve on DS9 when the Enterprise under Picard was destoryed, so this could mean it was still in the past and Worf still hasn't transfered to DS9, however the uniform courterdicts that.. so I am puzzled. Its likely to be a mistake in part of the writers, or Worf is a Ambassador however decided to take his post one last time.

Also, I think he is the Ambassdator to the Federation, not for the federation this can explain why he isn't wearing the Federation Ambassdators Uniform, however it could be the other way around.

In the DS9 Finale [What you Leave Behind Part 2] Admiral Ross asked Worf "How would you feel to be federation Ambassador to Qo'nos?" and Worf agreed so He is actually working as a Federation Ambassador.
Anyway Sorry Guys I think i may be Hogging this topic, so I'll let you guys to get back on topic
