From what I've read, fluidic space is a parallel dimension to our own space. Our space isn't really anything. Sure, we've got stars and planets, but in between, there's nothing. Their dimension happens to have a liquid form, and they've adapted to that.

I believe he is correct but also I believe it might be a space where travel is instant. I don't know much about the facts of Fluid Space or what things surround it, this is just one of those out of the blue theorys.

If you all remember from Scorpion (Part 1 and 2) we saw that Fluidic Space had apparant "mass". Once Voyager entered, many bio-ships started attacking Voyager. The crew detected incoming ships at a medium range. This would suggest that fluidic space is somewhat parallel to our own space. It could be easier or even harder to travel in fluidic space in terms of speed---for Federation starships. The only way that we know we can get to any point in the universe at any time is through the use of temporal technology. Another means is Transwarp drive, because upon reaching Warp 10, you and your vessel would occupy all points in the universe at once, but as we've seen in "Threshold" it can have some undesirable effects.

Fluidic space is exactly what it sounds like, space filled with fluid. When Voyager entered fluidic space they created a wake (like a boat on water). By entering fluidic space they altered the mass in the fluid sending out ripples. That is how they were detected. Also Starfleet vessels are able to travel through fluidic space similarly to traveling in vaccuum because their engines create their own propulsion (If you know anything about space travel you should know that). Their engines don't require smething to push against to move. Fluidic space would, of course, slow them down a lot, but then Starships aren't built to fly through fluid are they?
