My attempt a J/C romance.

Kathryn entered her quarters, Chakotay behind her. They sat on her couch, and Kathryn got them seprate robes. Chakotay went into her bathroom and changed out of his wet suit. Kathryn just changed in the sleeping part of her room. She replicated them two cups of hot cocoa, with little cheap marshmellows. Chakotay exited the bathroom the robe he was wearing came a little past his knees, and was a dark blue.

"Very nice, two thumbs way way up." Kathryn quipped.

"Looked in the mirror?" He shot back, and she stopped smiling.

'Here less than two feet away is the man I love wearing nothing but a cheap robe and his underwear.' Kathryn thought, and her eyes widened.

'I never thought I would be in Kathryn Janeway's quarters with her wearing a sexy little pink silk robe, and her bra and underwear.' Chakotay thought, and put a sly smile on his face.

"Chakotay, what do you think Tuvok knows, about us I mean?"

"I think he knows alot, and he most likely knows that I love you Kathryn." Chakotay replied.

Kathryn opened her mouth to say 'I love you too' but nothing came out.
She looked into her hot cocoa and took a sip.

"That Tuvok, he is a watchful one, but we have nothing to worry about."

"Why not?" Kathryn asked, worried.

"Because we decided to be honest and open about our realationship to the crew." He replied.

And again Kathryn was speechless. She nodded and took another drink of her hot cocoa, savouring the taste.

"Not to shabby." Kathryn said, trying to talk about them instead of a crapy cup of hot cocoa.

"No, I enjoy the heat as well as the sweet taste, and the after taste is absolutly wonderful." Chakotay replied.

Kathryn knew immediatly Chakotay was talking about them through the hot cocoa.

"I...well...want.to tell you...how much..I love you...but can't find the right words." She stammered.

"You know what they say 'Actions speak louder than words'."

She leaned over and gave him an all out french kiss. Chakotay slowly drew her close, and Kathryn untied her robe and it exposed her front. Chakotay's eyes lit up, with shock and pure desire. Then she literally pounced on him, and nearly knocked him off the couch. Somehow Kathryn found Chakotay's robe tie, and let's just say she threw it across the room. Chakotay by this time was lying on the couch and Kathryn was on top of him. Chakotay slowly removed Kathryn's robe, and she was wearing nothing but a pink lace bra and lace underwear.

"Is this what you want?" Chakotay asked, and Kathryn answerd that by scooping up Chakotay's hands and placing them on her waist.

"Yes Chakotay, this is what I really want. You me, and at least fifty feet away from the nearest lifeform." She replied.

Chakotay got up and carried Kathryn to her bed, and that's where it happened. Chakotay and Kathryn expressing their love for each other, and succombing to desire.

What will come of this romantic evening? A heartache?

A headache?

A child?

A realationship built on the love between two people?

Kathryn woke up the next morning, and when she tried to get up she was struck with severe lower abdominal pain. Chakotay stirred, and saw that she was in pain.

"What is it Kathryn?" He asked, and she sat on the bed.

"I..ugh...don't know. I ..ugh..ouch..have to get to...sickbay." She stammered, and Chakotay helped her into her uniform. He then threw on his own. Kathryn could barely stand, let alone walk, so Chakotay put one arm under her kness and another around her shoulder's and eaisly picked her up.

"Chakotay, I can walk." She said, but Chakotay only shook his head.

"No you can't. Kathryn with all do respect you can barely stand. You do trust me don't you?" He asked, stepping onto the turbolift.

"It's not an issue of trust, it's just I feel.. so..what's the word?" She asked.

"Helpless?" He suggested, when the doors to Deck 5 opened Chakotay nearly knock over Harry trying to get out of the lift.

"Captain?" Harry asked.

"I'll be on the bridge in a bit." She replied. She tapped her combadge as Harry walked off.

"Janeway to Tuvok." She said.

"Yes Captain?" He asked over his combadge.

"I'm on my way to sickbay with Chakotay, nothing to worry about, but you have the bridge." She said.

"Yes Captain, and I hope you get well." He replied.

"Thank-you, Janeway out." And the link with Tuvok was terminated.

When the sickbay doors opened the Doctor was giving B'Elanna a pre-nuptual exam.

"Doctor we have a situation." Chakotay said. The Doctor picked up his
tricorder while Chakotay placed Kathryn on a bed, she laid down as the Doctor ran some scans.

"Are you alright Captain?" B'Elanna asked.

"Just some lower abdominal pains. Probably nothing to worry about." Kathryn replied.

"Yes well, consider yourself lucky. I haven't seen my feet in two months. Putting socks on is nearly impossible. Preventing a core overload is easier." She joked and Kathryn smiled.

"Captain, I'd like to ask you a few questions."The Doctor said.

"Go ahead Doc." She replied.

"Okay, When was the last time you were intimate with a man?" He asked, shooting a glance at Chakotay, then one to B'Elann.

"I better get down to Engineering and leave you three alone." B'Elanna said, and practiacally ran out of sickbay.

"The last time, uhh..well...recently. Yes, recently." She replied, and tried to sit up, but the pain was too much so she laid back down.

"What about before that?" The Doctor asked, Chakotay found Kathryn's hand and gave it a re-assuring squeeze.

"Oh a VERY long time ago. I don't even remember when."She replied trying to think.

"Uh-huh. That's the problem. Your body has been sexually in-active for so long that in needs a few times to adjust. It's nothing to worry about, in fact I could give you a hypospray that will instantly kill the pain." The Doctor exaplained.

Will this problem affect Kathryn and Chakotay's relationship? When will they become fully public about their new found romance? Will Tuvok ever talk to the Captain about her and Chakotay, and perhaps offer her some Vulcan romance advice(God I hope not)?

"Thank-you Doctor." Kathryn replied.

The Docotor picked up a hypospray and gave it to the Captain.

"Kathryn I am so sorry." Chakotay said as the Doctor sauntered off.

"For what?" Kathryn asked, standing up.

"For giving you this pain, I can't help feeling resposible."

"Chakotay, it takes two to tango. It's not like it was completely your idea, and besides, I came on to you." She replied.

"No you didn't." Chakotay said.

"Yes I did."

"No you didn't Kathryn." Chakotay argued.

"Yes I did Chakotay." She argued back.

"Kathryn..." Chakotay began, but Kathryn cut him off.

"Let's not argue. As your Captain I am ordering you to agree with me." Kathryn ordered.

"What?" Chakotay stammered, as Kathryn left sickbay.

"Can she do that?" He yelled to the Doctor.

"Oh I do think so Commander." The Doctor replied.

Meanwhile in the Mess Hall...........

Tom spotted B'Elanna sitting at a table, and joined her.

"How are we doing?" Tom asked, putting his food in front of him.

"Your daughter is hungry, and I don't think she quite agrees with Neelix's breakfast." B'Elanna quipped.

"Who does?"

"God only knows, Tom. So, have you heard?" B'Elanna asked.

"Heard what? What am I missing?" Tom asked.

"You haven't heard yet?"

"Heard what?" Tom asked, getting interested. B'Elanna smiled as an Ensign from Engineering came over.

"Just got the word, they were headed toward sickbay, he was literally carrying her, you don't think..." The Ensign trailed off.

"What her, no. She's..well..not the type. Something tells me she wouldn't untill a ring is on her finger." B'Elanna replied, the Ensign nodded and left them.

"Who? What is this about something and a ring?" Tom asked.

"The Captain."

"What about her?" Tom asked, getting annoyed.

"Her and Chakotay are finally going together. The whole crew has been buzzing about since yesterday. The Ensign thought the Captain might be next in line for cribs." B'Elanna explained.

"What? You have got to be kidding me. You of all people, getting caught up in gossip and rumors." Tom replied.

"Hey, it's not like you ever get any good gossip around here. Besides Tom, they're finally together." B'Elanna said.

Gossip, gossip and more gossip...will this change things between Kathryn and Chakotay? And that arguement, things may not work out like they expected. I will write more...soon..maybe in a month or so...maybe tommorrow.

Chakotay ran to catch up with Kathryn, and hopped on the turbolift with her, and her alone.

"Kathryn, are you sure your up for duty?" Chakotay asked, taking her hand in his.

"Of course, it's just Neelix's breakfast I'm worried about." Kathryn replied.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, and if all else fails, there's always coffee."

"Your right Chakotay. I'll always have the miracle they call coffee." She said, giving Chakotay a hug.

"And you'll always have me." Chakotay said as the lift doors opened.

"Your hopeless, you know that. How was last night for you?" Kathryn asked as they entered the Mess Hall.

Kathryn didn't know if it was her imagination or not, but everybody seemed to get quit, followed by excited whispers. She seen many a crew member gazing at them.

"It was wonderful, but the repercussions were..." Chakotay began, but Kathryn cut him off.

"You ever get the feeling your being watched?" Kathryn asked, as she poured her self a cup of coffee.

"No, I don't believe I have. What is it Kathryn...I mean Captain?" Chakotay corrected.

"We're being watched." She muttered, taking a sip of cofee, and leaning on the counter.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, but everbody in here seems to be watching our every move." She replied.

"What did the Doctor give you, and nobody is watching us." Chakotay replied.

What Chakotay didn't know was that almost everybody in the Mess Hall was watching them. Kathryn didn't see Neelix reach over to tap her on the shoulder. When he did she jumped, and spilt her coffee on her chest.

"Oww! Hot! Mr. Neelix!" She yelled and then everybody was quiet, nobody said a word.

"Are you alright Captain?" Chakotay asked, rushing to her side.

"I'll be fine Chakotay, it just burns alot. Mr. Neelix are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Kathryn asked, glaring at Mr. Neelix.

"No Captain...I was...just going to ask you what you wanted for breakfast." Neelix stammerd, and he could see Kathryn's rage building.

"Next time do it without giving me a panic attack." She said, harsher than she intended to.

Whoa, look out Kathryn's on edge, one more slip up from the crew could send her way over the edge. How will Chakotay react to Kathryn's reaction?

"I am so sorry Captain, and you can bet it won't happen again." Neelix continued to stammer.

"Well I'm not holding my breath. I'm going to be late for duty, I need a new uniform, thanks to Mr. Neelix here." She mocked, and Chakotay stepped up close to her.

"Captain, stop, take a deep breath, and remain calm. Try counting to ten."
Chakotay suggested, and hoped she would try it.

Kathryn closed her eyes, took a deep breath and counted to ten in her head.
'One...Two..This is pointless...four...five...Neelix makes me so mad sometimes...six..seven..hey I think its working...eight..nine..I can feel the stress leaving my body..ten.' She counted, in her head.

"Sorry Mr. Neelix. I had a visit to sickbay and I am just a little on edge. I want to apologize to the rest of you as well," She said, facing the people at the tables.

"I shouldn't have lost my temper like that. I suppose going a few years straight as your Captain has put me on edge. I have never lost it, and my behavior this morning was unexceptable. Well, enough talk, half of you are late for duty." Kathryn apologized, and many a crew member rushed off for duty.

Wow, Chakotay seems to have a good influence on Kathryn, but did the crew notice that to? Do they suspect that something is up, and that there maybe a new romance aboard Voyager?

Suspense, the irony of it.

Chakotay sat in was sitting on his chair on the bridge as Kathryn hopped off the turbolift. She had a fresh uniform on, and a smile. She was even humming a happy tune when she sat in her seat. She leaned over and whipered to Chakotay.

"I want to thank you very keeping me somewhat calm. I think that if you hadn't been there I would have lost it." Shew whispered.

"Not a problem Kathryn, I didn't want to see you angry at yourself, or anybody." He whispered back.

"You are so hopeless. I swear if I went crazy you would be the one to make me sane again."

"Captain, may I have a word with you?" Tuvok interrupted.

"Sure, go ahead." Kathryn replied.

"I wish to speak with you alone." Tuvok replied.

Uh-oh...Tuvok is talkin' and Chakotay may just start walkin'.

Kathryn sat at her desk in her readyroom, while Tuvok stood.

"Yes Tuvok?" Kathryn asked.

"The crew is beginning to suspect that your seeing the first-officer Commander Chakotay secretly." He expianed, putting his hands behind his back.

"Oh, I see Tuvok." She replied.

"What do you intend to do about it?" Tuvok pressed on.

"I will try to make it clear to the crew that my relationship with Chakotay was supposed to be not so secretive." Kathryn said, folding her hands.

"So your are in a romantic relationship with Commander Chakotay?"

"Yes Tuvok I am. I love him, I really do, and want to be with him." Kathryn answered.

"Then I'd like to wish you and Chakotay happiness in your relationship. Vulcans know little about love, but even somone such as myself can see your infatuation with him." He replied, almost looking sincere, but he was still suspicious.

Kathryn sat back, and Tuvok left the room.

'Maybe going with Chakotay isn't such a good idea. Maybe I should re-think what I'm doing. The crew thinks I would keep a secret this large from them, then gossip about it, mistake. Maybe I don't really love Chakotay, maybe we just desired eachother.' She thought.

'But isn't that love? Wanting to have and hold the man of your dreams, Mr. Right? Yes, yes it is love. I am in love with a wonderful man.' She thought back.

"I am in love. I do love Chakotay, and come hell or high water we're going to be together." She annouced to herself.

That went well, or did it? Is Kathryn not so sure about being in love?

I hope not. Like most of you say, 'They belong together'.
