I love the books. I think books are better than movies anyway. Pathways was a great book. I bought the paperback, and then found out exactly how much was cut, so I also got the hardcover. I have almost all of the TOS books, same w/ Voyager, and about 10 each of DS9 and TNG.

TOS was my favorite until Voyager came out. I have about 20 or so hardcovers. I haven't checked the paperbacks lately, just bought 3 more tonight.
The books written by William Shatner were great. He, and his co-authors incorporated all of the series, it was cool.

I think I like the books better because you know what the characters are thinking and why they do what they do.

that is true but if you watch alot of star trek and u get to know a character then you can guess what they r thinking and if you watch a movie then read the book you can picture what he writes and compare it to the movie

I agree that it is not a good idea to read the book before you watch the show, because I think that the books are usually better than the movie, and it kind of ruins it for you. Generally they have to get the movie done in about an hour or so, and you can spend hours reading the books, where they can flesh out the characters, make them more than 2 dimensional people.

I like to read the books also. I have also found that "Mosaic" read by Kate Mulgrew on audiotape makes the time on the treadmill fly by.

It may be kind of hard to find Mosiac now, unless you have a big bookstore near you. It came out in 1996. I am sure that they have it on amazon.
