Powerful weapon used and developed by the Breen. While a starship's shields are down these weapons are able to hit the hull and immediately extract power from the warp core, consoles and main systems. The power is then sent back to the hull were it will deteriorate into space. This renders the starship nothing more than a piece of spacebound metal.

^The only problem with the explanation is that it's innacurate. From "The Changing Face of Evil" where the Breen weapon destroyed the original Defiant we see the Breen's weapon's effectivness throught the operational shields and Ablative Armor of the Defiant. The first succesfull connection of the Breen weapon emitted a strong EM dampening pulse that overloaded and shorted out nearly all of the Defiant's weapons and other key systems. The device also cut through the shields and defenses of the rest of the allied fleet that day in the Chin'toka system, save for a single Klingon Bird of Prey that had modified it's vessle as a repair measure before the battle. The weapon was subsiquently installed on other Dominion ships but the seceret to it's ability was stolen by Kira and company, allowing the alliance to develop a effective countermeasure.

Are you sure Thegame? Because on all the websites i have been to it says that the Breen first use conventional weapons to break through the shields then launch the Energy dampening weapon

I don't doubt that a website may have called it as you said, but I only work in 'canon' reference like the actual episode or from the Star Trek Encyclopedia.
