The sniper had better hope that the law finds him, because I have no doubt some wouldn't hesitate to kill him. And if there ever was someone who deserved the death sentence, it's him.

(Whoohoo! I'm now allowed to post in here again! My time of waiting is over!!... Sorry.. I'll get serious now)
This guy must be really sick. I don't agree with the death penalty but I hope he's caught and sent to gaol for life.

I got banned in November last year. Part of my punishment was not being allowed to post in here until Morphy thought I was responsible enough not to cause trouble. However, he forgot about it, and I asked him a few days ago if it was ok to post in here, and he said yes. Its a bit off-topic though...

Well, I believe everyone has a right to life. And think of the mistake's that can be made. If they get the wrong person, then if they're in Gaol for life then they can be released, but if they're given the death penalty then you can't be brought back to life...
Anyway, so long as its done right hanging can be more humane than the electric chair or lethal injection... not that I agree to any method.

I think the death penalty is to kind to them, why should they just be allowed to end things when the familys of those they have killed have to suffer. A lifetime of hard labour in jail is fine by me.

I'm one of those people who don't agree with the death penalty, I'm glad it abolished in UK. I don't think any one has the right to kill anyone no matter what they have done. Killing to me seems a easy way out for the accused. If a guy got sent to poison for raping and killing a little girl the other inmates would give him a really hard time, he would have to suffer for the rest of his life because of his actions.
In some cases people can be wrongly accused. For example there was this guy in England who was accused for murder in the 60's. He was the last person in the UK to be executed. Five years after he was hung the police found evidence that proved he didn't do anything at all! If he was in prison he could have been released, but death is irreversible.
Yeah ok I agree that sniper guy is sick, but the guys probably mentally ill. Normal people dont go around doing things like that. Should someone be killed due to a mental sickness?

I think mental illness is a hard one. I know that if someone killed one of my friends or family and turned out to be mentally ill he could be outa prison in less than a year, i don't think thats fair at all coz he still took a life

Hmm I'm very much against the death penalty, if they arrest him/her they should give it medicins if it has a disorder or something and let him live and let him life with guards for the rest of his life. If he's fully responsible then he should go to prison for 25 years or so.

You should spend the rest of your life in prison for killing one person, but 8, i can't think of a punishment fitting. (imho)
