Sun Aug 25, 2002 10:31 pm Anyone here watch "The Dead Zone"? |
|
Does anyone here watch "The Dead Zone" on USA, based on the book by Steven King?
It co-stars Nicole deBoer (Ezri Dax) as Sarah, along with Anthony Hall as Jonny Smith. Jonny develops psychic powers after being in a coma for six years, because his brain repairs itself by utilizing a region of the brain dormant in most people-----a Dead Zone.
Anyway, its really good. And the Executive producer is Micheal Piller, who co-created Voyager (but left after season 2). He throws a lot of Trek references into the series-----once a kid referred to Jonny's power as a "mind meld", and in today's episode a reporter tries to seduce him by saying "Resistence is futile."
I thought about putting this in TV Shows (non Trek), but that seems to be primarily about lists......

Quite sure. Watch the opening credits. However, I can think of one or two episodes she hasn't been in.

I like the dead zone, but our cable was reduced down to like 12 channels, so i can't see it on USA anymore.

I watched as much of it as I could when I got out of work. It was awesome. I had seen it before, but I hadnt realized it. It was kind of cool to hear Maine and places in Maine mentioned so often. Like the Bangor Daily, for example, that's our local newspaper.
Btw, did anyone notice that Dana said "Resistance is futile"?

There's a Trek reference in nearly every episode. In one of the early ones, a briefly-seen newspaper had an article about "Noonien Sighn", for instance.

That paper would be none other than the Bangor Daily News I guess that means Star Trek is even in Maine
It is kind of cool though. You are always seeing the Times or something in TV shows, but our little paper... just think it's cool
(I said that already, didnt I?)

Season 1 just finished last Sunday. They run it at several times during the week, but most notably its on at 10pm Sunday nights. Next Sunday is probably a rerun of the first episode.
I've heard rumors that season 2 will start in december, but that isn't confirmed.

The show is about a Psychic who is able to touch objects or people and see where they've been and see the future. Read the first post in here and it explains it pretty well. Better yet, start watching Sunday!
