Seems like Ezri was an attempt at keeping Jadzia "alive", so to speak, and it failed miserably. They should have just brought in a new science officer, and let everyone greive for Jadzia

No way Jadzia should of died they should of kept her on to the end, I know no that shes on the show Becker and although she is also brilliant on that, she should of stayed on DS9 instead.

i think if they coud have come up with a plot to replace jadzia's character with Counseler Ezri Tigan in the main cast and had Jadzia as a recurring character it would have been fine

Yes! I agree!! And didn't they pair Ezri with Worf? Feh! *frowns*
Yeah...why was there this need to bring on a whole new Dax in the last darn season? It's pointless, because the audience needs more time than a season to properly invest in any character. They shouldn't have fired Terry Farrell--her request for less airtime was a logical career move, especially since Becker was just starting and DS9 was near its end. They should have done as Pah-Wraith suggested, and kept her as a recurring character. *sighs* Bloody Paramount people...

It's not like the writers wanted to kill her. Terry Farrell didn't want to return for a seventh season. She was hoping to do something new, and she did land a lead role on "Becker" on CBS, althogh she will not be on this season. I liked Ezri, but remember that the writers only had 26 episodes to develop her character, not six seasons like they had with Jadzeea.
