PostMon Sep 02, 2002 1:51 pm    Polls

I've noticed that a lot of the topics in this forum are almost exactly the same, which makes for a lot of disordered chaos! Thus, modeling after what's been done in General Trek already, the condescening of topics! All topics relating to any of the new stickied topics will be locked. Please continue discussing those subjects in the stickied topics! Thanks!

Thanks! Would you mind spreading the word and telling people to post in these topics instead of dredging up old topics from the past pages? I'm slowly trying to lock all the topics pertaining to the new stickied polls, but it might take me a bit.

isn't there a way to disable the poll feature in PHPBB? I mean why want them, most polls are lame and what does one do with the information gathered?
I mean realy, I have started one poll so far, [sarcasm]and I feel such a better person knowing that 9 out of 14 people think that R.Dawson should return into acting[/sarcasm]

I'm not sure, Vortex...not that I know of, atleast. I think it's something Morphy would have to do?

Why? Polls take in useful info and it reduces spam. It's better then asking everyone there favorite character and then having 50 replies of nothing but 'Carter' when you could have 25 who bother to respond and the other 25 who just vote. I like things just the way they are.

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

i understand your reasoning, but lets say i want to post somthing in the voyager section part, there are a lot of posts there, i know that when i post somthing i dont go through all the other posts to see if someone has already writen somthing exactly like my topic, if i did somthing like that,(unententualy) would it be considered against the rules

Future of Star Trek is a much smaller forum than the Voyager forum. It is quite easy to scroll down the page, and take a quick glance at what topics have been posted and are open for discussion. For instance, were you desiring to post a Voyager movie topic, the first thing you should see when you load this forum's page is the thread titled "Announcement: Voyager Movie Topics." Logic would tell you to go there first, before you post your new thread, and you would see that you should instead simply add your thoughts to the already established thread "Future Star Trek Movies." It's really quite simple.
