*Sigh* this question is asked too much. There are many parts to the Prime Directive. If you wish to know specific parts, you have to mention

According to Star Trek, the Prime Directive is way to long and diffucult toi explain in whole. Try asking about something specific.

You forgot, that a planets laws overrule those of Starfleet. You commit murder on a planet, they can judge you however they like. Even if the Federation says they can't.

I think its sort of wierd that there is a prime directive cuz if the vulcans had a prime directive they wouldn't have made contact with humans they would have just left us alone and we wouldn't even have been able to get out into space.

I wonder if the Vulcan's abide by the Prime Directive? I mean those few in Starfleet do, but the Vulcan's do have their own ways of doing things.

Hehe... i just had a funny thought.

Wouldn't it be really cool to land a Soveriegn class starship (although they have no landing capability but you know what i mean) right outside your school (saying you were about 12) and just watching all those bullies and teachers pee themselves.
Either that or take a phaser whichevers easier.

Intresting idea you have there, it would be nice to see any federation vessel land anywhere you were. Then all those who have picked on you, will know you told the truth, and would most likely become your best friends.

There are alot of parts but it basically says not to interact directly with alien species in giving them technology and stuff.

The prime directive states that the federation and its officers are not permitted to interfere with the natural development of cultures that are either:
A: Not Warp Capable
B: Do not know about the existence of extraterrestrial life.
